I didn’t say German lines for Rein. I meant moreso Darin’s accent as well as Luci’s.
I mean you don’t have to fluently speak the language to say a phrase. I don’t speak Spanish fluently but I can still say a few sentences without sounding like a redneck American.

you work with what you got, and some voice actors don’t have the time to go through the training to make a line in a different language sound like it is meant to be, there are many reasosn for this

It took Lucio’s VA 3 years to become comfortable enough with the language to actually have voice lines for it. Shoot I’ve taken spanish of some sort for 5 years now and I’m not comfortable saying anything

Because, all this time, Blizz has actually just been trying to catch up with the times. They thought they were still the same company behind WoW… but all that changed when the #tracerbuttgate arrived. That’s when they realized they were in 2016, not 2006.
So they’ve been doing their best… finally giving Lucio lines in Brazilian Portuguese… trying to make Sombra more than just a tropey Mexican delinquent (yes, hacking is a crime), thankfully adding more non-White heroes. It’s taken time, but they’re on the ball. Heck! They even added a hamster from space!

Granted that the VA isn’t from the country the fictional hero is from but it wouldn’t be too shabby if they learned a few voice lines in the heroes native language.
