Literally every other character has it, even those whos guns are obviously semi-auto like yeehaw’s revolver or mercy’s pistol, but not ashe? Is it because her gun is super old? And why does brig quick melee button make her swing primary fire but reinhardt quick melee button doesnt?

All the other guns are semi-automatic, Ashe’s gun is lever-action… so technically not semi-auto.
Well it’s not like realism would matter though don’t see why it would be like this.

The only exception here is hanzo and its only because you have to hold to charge, and widow is a similar case. Hog yeehaw and rein all have autofire

A better question is why does Cowboy’s revolver have semi auto fire, when it’s clearly a single action since he can fan the hammer.
It being lever action is an invalid point, semi-auto still requires a manual action just like lever action does, yet, semi auto weilding heroes fire automatically if you hold down the button.
lever action, semi-auto and full-auto are very different though 
lever action would be some sort of a shotgun (needs ammunition to be sent into barrel by manual force), that describes Ashe’s gun perfectly
semi-auto would be most pistols or some rifles (mainly marksman weapons), the gun reloads itself using the kinetic power from the fire but still requires for trigger to be reset and pressed again. That would be Mccree
full-auto will shoot as long as the trigger is pressed, which are most known modern weapons and most of those also have semi-automatic mode implemented for better accuracy. Soldier pretty much
It’s been a few years since I fired one, but if I recall you can still fan the hammer with a double action revolver. You have to hold the trigger after the initial shot, which allows the hammer to be manually drawn and the cylinder to rotate after each shot.
But don’t quote me. Been a several years since been on a range with a revolver.
You can fan a double action. His revolver is double action.

This is the right question. (His gun is double action actually, but a single press of the trigger [left click] should still only result in one shot.)
Its not about gun lore. Its about convenience and developer oversight. Notice how I lumped it up with the rein thing. The “old gun” thing was just a bad joke.

its a lever action rifle and the bullets are loaded individually so yea the only way is if she swapped out her gun with an updated version. i like the lever action tho its so cool
