Why does vfx never change for any skins?

It’s just something that I noticed that Overwatch never implements, but other games like League of Legends do. Not every skin would be fit for different vfx of course, but I think this would go a long way on some legendary skins and would add to the overall feel of them. Just some quality of life changes

Also, I’m aware that they already change some of the projectile shapes for some skins (i.e. Thunderbird Pharah’s ult). Maybe they could add different explosion animations and particle effects for stuff like that too?

Lastly, all examples I list are implied to be from a friendly perspective. Enemy VFX would still look the same as they currently do, in order to not cause confusion for some of you

Some examples:

  • Honeydew Mei - She has bubble tea in her gun, yet, she still shoots that same icy blue color. Why not have this skin shoot “frozen” bubble tea? Just change the icy blue color to an icy lime green? Same with the ice walls and her ult?

  • Dracula Reaper - Instead of shadow step looking like how it does for every other skin, they could have themed vfx as an added bonus (but lessen the bright red to balance it out). Dracula Reaper could be surrounded by bats or something. Same with wraith form

  • Sombra - Hack is purple no matter what skin she’s in. I think its worth at least letting friendly Sombra’s have different tint or vfx in a skin like Tulum. Cyberspace Sombra is another good example

  • Dva - The Meka in her new academy skin is very bright and bold. I think if she’s ulting, a different sequence/animation for the buildup towards the explosion would be super cool; instead of those standard greens/yellows/whites. Same applies to most of her other legendaries I suppose. Her bullets from the Meka & her pistol could be different colors as well

  • Winston - Monkey could get different vfx for his electricity too. Yeti Monkey could get little snowflakes spawning from his cannon as he electrocutes people. And Gargoyle Winston could have black lightning (or tinted lightning) instead of the standard.

  • Torb - This suggestion isn’t really skin specific but pLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, UPDATE HIS ULT!! I’m tired of Molten Core looking like melted cheese. I just had to throw this one in here

There are many more examples, but I probably won’t think of them all. And, obviously, there’s a 99% chance none of this will happen since Blizzard rarely takes any suggestions. But these are just some thoughts I wanted to share

Good catch, but it would be better if the vfx for when she swings the mace had some electricity too
