All I see in that place are the same PoTG where someone gets a meme 6 kill on their smurf account, cosplay posts, fanart, comics, or a “Thank you Blizzard” post by a guy who was struggling to cope with life till he played Overwatch.
No actual discussion of the game ever gets done there?
Any posts of discussion about the game are usually downvoted to 0, or hidden by the masses of boring PoTG / highlight clips.
That sounds like they are discussing the game. I’m sure they have their problems but its kind of sad that complaining about something is this forum’s default state and by comparison “discussing the game” doesn’t include casual posts about just enjoying it.
If it had a certain requirement in order to post potgs or highlights, you might see discussion there.
Because there are other subreddits, such as /r/competitiveoverwatch or /r/overwatchuniversity dedicated to those things. The Overwatch subreddit is only interested in things related to the game and fun things about it.
Any threads you post to try and discuss the game in /r/compoverwatch get hidden or locked by mods because it isn’t related to esports or owl.
There isn’t really a whole lot to discuss though. They restricted highlight clips for a week or so last year and the sub didn’t agree with it all. r/Overwatch is for funny clips or non-serious topics with your occasional post discussing the balance of the game. r/overwatchuniversity is where you want to go for discussions about improving yourself and game strategies.
That sounds like what the subreddit was designed for then, as someone pointed out above there might be a subreddit for balance discussion exclusively.
Is there a point? Why even make a whole thread about complaining about other discussion mediums.
There’s nothing wrong with that… every community has their own thing.
This forum seems to be an angst-fest 90% of the time!
That’s our thing, I guess!
Come on, what else would someone post about if there was nothing to complain about? If the game gets perfectly balanced i’m sure they’d complain it was “too balanced” and that each hero has too many situations where they work.
