TF2 and Overwatch are not comparable in the same way as, say, Overwatch and Paladins.
TF2 has very large teams and longer respawn times and is overall a far more casual game while Overwatch is desperately trying to be competitive. This makes for a game that is much more similar to a FPS with bigger teams such as CoD than it is to Overwatch. Sure, the game modes are largely the same but the amount of players and balancing of the characters, as well as the overall design of the game make it completely non-comparable to Overwatch.
Still, keeping track of 12 enemies and 11 teammates is easier, than keeping track of 6 enemies and 5 teammates.
The only serious FPS is Serious Sam.
Are you sure? I found only serious thing about it being amounts of gunfire and explosions.
So is OW bad because they didn’t take the time to understand its not a candy crush game like they thought but actually something… skillful?
Kits are not equal, and they ignore the fact that the skill ceilings of every low mechanical kit are lower than the mechanically inclined ones. One big problem is that people who take mechanically intensive kits then whine when someone on a less mechanically inclined kit wins, but they forget they 1) chose the kit and 2) don’t have the skill to use it.
Don’t take a mechanically intensive character when you are not mechanically skilled in a game with alternatives meant for more casual or quick pick-up. This a huge problem with players on certain kits, notably younger players on Genji I’ve noticed; you are not skilled for simply opting for a skill-intensive kit.
If you are given possibilities it means there are more things that can happen. If you are given limitations, you can’t overcome them, it’s why they are called limitations.
That’s fine, like I said before, it’s a subjective matter. I personally found TF2 too simple and boring after trying OW, also lifeless to be honest, artistically spreaking OW is in a higher level.
I hate those things, and they always come in huge numbers.
…I can’t tell if you’re joking or not
Mostly joking. After public TF2 servers, keeping track of teammates in Overwatch should be an easy task for anyone.
Though Overwatch doesn’t have Spy, so you don’t have to pay close attention to any suspicious behavior.
What do you mean back to? That’s what kills me. Tanks are going to be arguably weaker than launch and forget about the unique elements like mass rez, leveled turrets, and the entirely of Sym.
Yall are the ones who want to change the game, not us.
Before “but you’ll get to kill people more, so you are stronger” argument. Which for me would be equal to simplifying first Doom by removing some of keycard-locked doors and adding more demons to make game “better”.
Yes, but 1st/third person are vastly different from top down
Isn’t top-down the same as third-person, though? Third-person is where you can view the full model of the character from an angle: it’s just often done from behind, but has been done from top-down.
havent played unreal tournament but you have my interest now. whats the translocator in unreal?
This video showcases the guns (and Translocator) in the older UT99
Start at around 0:32 seconds
Tanslocator
Tracers double rapid fire guns
Pulse rifle is like Baby DVA, Mercy, Echo Lucio main gun attacks
Pulse Rifle secondary is like Zarys, Symettra beam weapons
Shock Rifle secondary is like Sym orbs
Flak Cannon primary is like Roadhogs gun. Secondary is like Junkrats grenades or Zaryas secondary.
Ripper is like Genjis shuriken’s
Bio Rifle is like Echos sticky grenades.
Rocket Launcher is like Pharah’s rockets
Mini gun is like Bastion
Redeemer is like Junkrats Ultimate.
Etc etc
When i was looking for a video to show you the UT transloactor , I came up on this video. Which is basically what i been saying for years.
BUT they dont go too deep into it. I can name way more things OW took from UT.
Say that to any GM that climb multiple accounts to the same ELO.
I know it’s hard to believe. But if you’re not climbing, it doesn’t mean you’re not “improving”. It just means that you’re not improving faster then other players on your ELO.
I know. Shocking right? But playing as a clueless person over and over will not improve you at the game. Most players to stand at the highest level should be “specialists” on their heroes and role and play regularly hours a day.
Some people just can’t stand the lack of progression and blame everyone else except themselves. It’s just an psychological scapegoat, a victim mentality.
In a world where everyone just wants to be an special snowflake, it’s not surprising at all.
If you REALLY want to climb, you should commit yourself with that objective. It means you should revaluate your playstyle and overall decision managing… Watch your replays and try to notice where and when how you’re being punished. You can’t control your teammates but you CAN control yourself, and if you raise to higher skill set at a mechanical level AND game sense faster then other players on your ELO does, you’ll climb. Regardless of the hero or role.
That’s why you can give 30 accounts for an GM player who play consistently and he’ll raise all of those accounts to GM.
The same can be said for a Plat player. It WILL get those accounts to plat.
But it does take a LOT of time and commitment to be a GM. Most people just think they “deserve” a higher rank just because they have inflated EGOs and that’s it. An signal of an immature mind. And we have a LOT of players like this in this community.
Games are just an scapegoat for problems most of the time and some of then start to take then way to seriously. Most people avoid investing in themselves because it isn’t “fun” or “easy”.
I’m not saying all this towards you specifically. But the overall mindset behind “climbing” and “not climbing”.
We can’t say for sure if the game don’t adjust your MMR and SR “fast enough” or not. But what we CAN say for sure is that everyone who belongs to an SR, will get to that eventually. And if they got “stuck”, it doesn’t mean they’re not improving. It just means they’re not improving fast enough to keep climbing.
ah! and its a great translocator too! ty for the link
id argue some of the points the video makes, like zaryas secondary are weak points lol
The video wasnt that good. Because in the end it only showcased team death match.
When UT had Capture the flag Domination (control) and assault game modes.
Look at the second video for the influences in the weapons.
Also they missed a bunch of other things like the invisibility pick up. Mega health packs, mini health packs, Armor packs, Damage amplification power ups.
Capture the flag, and domination modes with is the same as control in Overwtch.
Plus many more things. And of coarse OW is going to look and play more modern, because Unreal Tournament series is old and outdated.
timesplitters had all these too, i think a LOT of old games did
