Why does sleep dart do damage?

Just curious. It doesn’t matter to me that it is damaging, just a bit weird having it do 5 damage when it already makes you immobile :woman_shrugging:

Because it’s a dart, not nerf bullets. Darts have pointy tips

Well, I can see getting rammed with a shield would hurt, but like a shot really doesn’t (at least to me)

Technically discord and healing orbs, since you “throw” them at people

Ya I guess, lol its just a bit annoying getting killed by a sleep dart and then getting tbagged by the ana even tho the dart has a hitbox the size of the payload

I do not really consider discord to hit someone, it is a debuff like hack. But concussion blast is a good one and now I am triggered by Blizzard’s inconsistencies yet again.

Yeah this is p much the same reason why Graviton and Mei’s ultimates deal damage. It’s so they don’t get shafted out of using an ability and then not getting kill credit if one of your teammates follows up on it.

I don’t care that they get credit, plus it makes sense that is does damage as it is a tank and dps. I also don’t care if ana gets credit from the sleep, even if it doesn’t do damage.

This is true, but it travels at a very high speed, and from my experience, I have been able to hit sleeps i shouldn’t have so…

Sleepdart also has a windup and travel time, it’s not that easy to hit.

It is just easier to hit than just about any projectile in the game…

If I was impaled by a dart IRL I would assume it did about 5 damage to my health.

No it isn’t. It’s around the same and unlike many of those you only get one shot at it. You’re completely ignoring windup, when it would be used, etc.

A dart to the face would probably require a hospital visit

No, no parts of ana’s kit have headshot mutlipliers
