Why does Roadhog need to be able to heal?

So like…they “rework” roadhog b/c of hook (which wasn’t his problem) and didnt touch his heal? The heal NEEDS to be nerfed big time. The CD should be doubled, period. Tanks should need to be getting healed, not dependent on anti heal to hurt him.

Then what else would he have?

No one would ever pick him otherwise, and teammates would complain you’re throwing if you pick him.

the heal is fine but not as often as he does it. Right now any support that he’s bullying can’t really kill him at all b/c by the time our pitiful dmg chips him down, he can just heal all the way back up again. I think it’s ridiculous that any TANK can do this. He does a lot of front loaded dmg and has a pretty hefty HP pool as it is, the heal needs a longer CD, he needs to be getting support.

You shouldnt be able to wipe out a tank as a support in a 1v1…Like they literally nerfed most of the dps who can do that on the basis that a tank in ow2 should have the advantage against a lone dps player.

i’m not 1v1ing him. I’m just seeing him get super low and even though he literally JUST healed…he does it again. I’m just not seeing how that is anything BUT OP

He has no form of damage mitigation nor a shield. Him not having a heal of some kind would be bad- they buffed his heal to be meter based because it was way too weak when it was a cooldown. Is it annoying, yes. Is he unkillable? Much less so than the stronger tanks.

I’m fine with hog. He’s not really a throw pick anymore and actually useful and not as dumb with 1shots unless you get caught into the trap or someone else is shooting you.

Just in case you get two supports that believe they are Awkward (or worse, a support duo) in your lobby. Nobody in their right mind would queue for tank if our precious Blubberbeast was not a golden parachute to save us from the incompetence of mediocrity. Him sniffle the vape so that we may play the game in peace.

I hate the street pig as much as the next person, but what would you give him instead?

The guy has no defensive ability, no armour, is the size of a truck and has no movement ability. He would be absolutely awful with no Dr or self heal.

Tell me you don’t play tank, without telling me you don’t play tank.
But the treatment you give others, you won’t accept it to your support role.
Stay in the back line protected and complain about the tank, where you can anti him, discord him and blow him up in 1.5sec.
Support mains strike again.

He heals so he can do his job. It’s like asking why Rein has a shield, Dva has Defense Matrix and boosters, Doom has punch, Sigma has rock and shield. Winston has booster and shield, Zarya has bubbles.

then give him some? I dont understand why giving him a “heal all the way up with one button” thing was ever seen as being balanced.

It only heals 450hp now, so it’s a nerf but it doesn’t make him worthless. Plus he only gets damage reduction while healing to actually distract enemies so his teammates aren’t the target.

Let me ask this. How does he mitigate damage?

Because if he didnt have the ability to heal, the rest of his kit would get him killed in 90% of his pushes. His kit is extremely short range, with hook being the exception of being semi medium range. Without the ability to self heal, anyone in the enemy team could clip him from a bit further away while hes trying to get to them

So, lesson on tanks. They need shield of some sort or self healing/self sustain. Without either they are not tanks and fall incredibly quickly.

So then what ability would replace his heal? A passive heal like reaper?
Hog’s very design relies on his ability to self heal. Taking that away is equivalent to saying this: “take Reins shield away because it blocks damage”
Sounds stupid right?
And if you think Ana nade is the only way to kill him, sorry to say, you’re as*.

No support should be able to kill a TANK in a 1v1 regardless. Not even 2v1.
And yes, I say this as a support main.
