Why does open queue exist?

Role queue is just objectively better. It allows easier balancing of the game, games are fairer, it means you are more likely to get people that know what they are doing. If everyone that plays open queue were forced to play role queue, then the player base wouldn’t be split and getting into games would be faster.

Role queue is “objectively worse” in my experience. Two DPS with lower damage than their own supports? You can’t switch to their role and do their job to compensate.

Soldier 76 - a character I almost never play - has the highest win rate on my profile because DPS mains ignore pharah 80% of the time.

you are assuming that at least 2/5 of each player in an open queue game would queue support or all roles. If they queued tank or dps, it would actually take longer to get into games.

I prefer the chaos of Open Queue.

Role Queue is just too… sterile, for my liking.

Wouldn’t make a significant difference since the vast majority of people already play RQ.
Just let the mode stay so that people have options.

Cause it has no wait times, and when the game starts dying RQ is unplayable

There was big enough amount of people who loved switching from the only healer to Bastion. That mode is for them. Nowadays, it’s also for absolute glory of 5 tank comps. Let’s be honest, that’s the only way to play OW.

Because people like to have options and if there were only one game mode there would be nonstop flood of people demanding more.

Respectfully…

I don’t like arguing. Ok. Let’s get that fact out of the way.

Why can’t we have both? RQ was only put in place because of people complaining about the chaos.

Forcing people into doing things they don’t enjoy is a bad thing. I enjoyed the old QP, and even more when they added hero limits.
I started to not play when they added RQ with no option for OQ. Limitless Arcade was bad, because I dislike hero stacking.

I have no problem with RQ, just don’t force it upon everyone else.

It won’t ever be balanced, which is the fun of it. You get more whacky creativity and sometimes things work that shouldn’t.

Not looking to argue, just looking to debate an idea. Nothing wrong with what you said

My fav mode is ctf, and I didn’t mind it being open queue till ow2. Before if they had 2+ tanks and my team didn’t it was an advantage, but not game breaking. Now the team with more tanks almost always wins. It’s miserable to pick your hero, and before the gates open see the enemy is 3 tanks 2 supports. Or even worse, 4 tanks 1 support.

If you dislike to so much. Stay out of it and let me play how the game use to function. Enjoyment fun

If I want comp gameplay I’ll do RQ, but if I want bizarre and crazy gameplay. OQ

And serious? “More likely?” Hardly.

Open Queue now and in OW1 was what Competitive Mode and QP used to be before Role Queue came out. RQ happened because 6 DPS on a team and no one wanted to play a Tank or Support OR you would get something like GOATS, 3 Tanks and 3 Support. My favorite though was 5 DPS and 1 Mercy.

Btw lets see how fun RQ is in half a year or so when DPS queue will be 10 mins.

I’m sorry, I’m just used to people arguing. I prefer less throat grabbing and more civil discussion.

The OQ people would just quit

Because thats how the game was designed in the first place, so people who like that mode would be annoyed if it was removed.
