Why does it take mutliple wins

to make up for 1 loss
why winning so punishing that one loss forces you to win multiple games to make up for it

What SR are you at? Elos below 3000 SR has Performance Based SR. So if your match stats are lower than than expected you will loose more

Below Diamond, PBSR enables players to gain/lose more SR for a game based on hero specific performance.

If you’re doing just as much as the average McCree player, expect to get 20-25 SR for a win/loss.

If you’re desperately exceeding the performance of your rank, you’ll see much more significant gains.

Solving low-elo win conditions like taking and winning 1v1s, spawncamping, being xyz diff, denying the right ults, or fragging out as Mercy converts wins, but sabotages your stats. It’ll register your MMR as needing to go down, and the subsequent wins will be harder.

Byproducts of a broken system which is a byproduct of bad hires.

Rank averages destroyed by years of no-resets and smurf accounts.
There is no expectation with 5+ years no-reset, mmr-rigging, and alts.

I win 12 SR for a win with 55-1 k/d around 518sr. I lose 37 sr for a loss with leavers vs. smurfstacks once I peak for the night at 551. Most nights I win/lose ?? SR in the <500, where nothing is tracked.

The PBSR is a joke but saying it takes 2 wins to make up for 1 loss seems like a hyperbole. Although I’ve had games where I completely carried and got like +23, and other games where I did nothing and got +29 for a win.

I’ve been, for the life of me, trying to figure out this entire system. It honestly seems like you get punished worse for losing than rewarded more for wining, if that makes sense.

Pbsr is definitely a joke. Recently tested this with my cousin, may or may not have smurfed a few games in gold. I got on an old “cemented” account not a new one. I had an 8kd, 30-40 elims per 10 and getting around 60-80 elims a match. I gained 20-25 on a win and 25-30 on a loss. I think it took about 15hrs just to go from low gold to 2600ish.

What would happen is the better i played the harder the enemy team became and worst our team got. It got to the point him and i would face full 6 staks on all level 25 accounts. 2 smurfs cant beat 6 no matter what. Then once u would lose that the next few became unwinnable again. Then the cycle repeated. It shows its doable butttttttt nobody has that kind of time.

5yrs in ive given up tryn to understand this MM and we mostly play quickplay and arcade now for fun.

Imma be honest , everytime somone says this I think they are lying. Unless you are in top 10 on average you get pretty much the same sr per win or loss

It depends on your MMR.

If it’s lower than your SR placement then it will make you lose more than you gain, the same applies in the opposite way.

The system tries to make it as far as possible according to your stats, a fully winrate based system wouldn’t be much fun either.
