thats not true unless the console player just does on pc without practicing their aim
I’ve always heard that console players get higher on PC than console
It doesn’t. Well, it can, but it can also work the other way. What I’m saying is that there isn’t a correlation.
if you have never touched an FPS on a PC before you really won’t be able to be as efficient as an average player.
How come so many people use this to belittle on people who are high on console
Because people have this baffling illusion that jumping to a different control scheme has no impact on ability so those who switch are just bad.
I honestly believe it’s just so they can feel better about themselves. Just ignore it.
Oh okay for a second i thought it was true thanks!
I’d asume because of the massive “Aim = Skill and Skill = Only Aim and nothing else” mentality of A LOT of people in the community.
Generally players on console are seen as “Can’t aim for S*** on PC” or more like “Can’t deal with better aim on PC”… the later more acurate because it’s kinda true… you’re more likely to get quickly shut down by good aim in the Mouse and Keyboard realm.
People like that usually either want to feel better about themselves by making you feel bad.
But to be honest, if I ever have to play Overwatch with gamepad - I would be trash on any hero that requires any aim. So, works both ways.
Depends on a number of things.
But generally speaking I think the generalization is made with the assumption that a console player does not play PC games at all.
Personally I can’t play OW on console. I just can’t do it. I am the worst player in the world on console. I didn’t learn how to play shooters on console so I’m pretty bad at them.
I would think it would be the same for someone who has never played a shooter on PC.
Both have their downsides. The controllers are clunkier to use but more forgiving. Aiming on PC is more fluid but requires more precision.
getting used to controller however is easier than k&m due to the aim assist and the reaction times being longer.
Ive never had any fps experience on console before ow other than a few games at friends houses and im pretty bad
Its not comparable, a different imput system slightly changes the general player behavior but overall it remains the same as the objective remains the same.
The barrier in switching is usually the time it takes to adapt to the different input system. It took me a while until I felt comfortable aiming on a controller after playing on PC for so long.
There is also a chance that certain konfiguration benefits your general skill set more e.g. if everybody struggles with aiming more while you are more of a strat guy that relies less on aim anyway, you’d suffer less after switching from PC to console for example.
bc it’s a fallacy.
as someone who played both pc and console. i was actually higher rank on PC diamond and plat on console. but thats probably bc I actually played more than my min 10 on pc back in the day lol.
everyone is different. if youre not used to KB&M and swap to PC from console (or vice versa) ofc you’ll rank lower to start. it’s like being an amazing basketball player and going to play baseball. youre not gonna be at the same league
agreed and the reverse is also true. going from KB&M to controller for the first time is just as awkward esp losing the flick lol
