People would rather play as an attractive hero than one that looks ugly or plain Jane, unless it’s a non-human character. There’s nothing sinister about it, it’s just the way things are.

Nothing wrong with that. I find D.Va the sexiest most attractive character in the game.
I’m not saying there’s something wrong with it.
I’m saying it’s not the definition of a sexualized female. 
A large portion of the concept artists and 3d sculptors are women. Kind of weird of you to say.

Because it sells. They’re a business, it’s an easy way to drive sales, simple as that.
I definitely don’t find all the female characters attractive.
