Brig has a knight skin as i don’t have a problem with them. They fit both Doom and Brig. Not to mention all Lunar New Year skins.

The iconic gladiator armour has the shield arm bare while the sword arm is armoured up:
Doomfist has his shield arm bare while his sword arm is armoured up. Aesthetically, I think it works really well. It’s not the Gladiator skin’s fault that Doom has a pretty good wardrobe already.
The whole “survival of the fittest” thing from his lore is icing on the cake. Who knows more about survival of the fittest than a gladiator?

Um, doesn’t even matter if it doesn’t fit lore/history lol. He’s a brawler, therefore the gladiator skin fits perfectly.
I didn’t even know he had it at first, but holy hell was I glad I looked at his event stuff. Bought it as soon as I saw it, and I don’t even think I have an hour/hour 1/2 on the character lol…

Thor is a viking/norse god but was a gladiator against Hulk. Most characters in the game have chinese themed skins for Lunar New Year. Does that mean Thor shouldn’t have gone against Hulk and Lunar New Year items should only go to characters related to it?
Also we don’t have an Italian hero yet and Doomfist is the most closely affiliated to Italy because he’s the Leader of Talon which is based in Italy.

It WAS “sport” long time ago…more like brutal game of sweat and blood. Some gladiators were volunteers who risked their lives and their legal and social standing by appearing in the arena. Most were despised as slaves, schooled under harsh conditions, socially marginalized, and segregated even in death - criminals and slaves in short.
Not to be racist here…I am just stating historical facts: In old Roman empire, people of his skin colour were slaves. Doom is also criminal and fighter, which is another thing, that fits to the skin of gladiator.
At least that is my understanding of Doom getting that skin. I live in EU and I studied history and archeology and this is kind of my field of interest here.

Genji has a fencing skin but he’s Japanese. However, it fits his aesthetic. Sym has a dragon skin but she’s not a dragon. Torb has some bad skins but he’s still sexy. Things don’t have to fit the character all the time. Let people have fun with designing stuff.
