Dive meta doesnt counter snipers in this game because they will soon become part of Dive that to counter it. Having mobility does that to an archetype that should be weak to someone getting close to them.
Its literally what happened to Dive, a meta created to counter Widow, ended up with her being a core member.
I mean rezz is extremely easy to punish. The issue is anti flanker snipers that need you to allocate 2 mobile heroes to even start to scratch her.
Yep. Although Ana doesnāt have any escape tool , she got her sleep dart which is more than fair.
It isnāt even the rez though. Just her basic healing beam. Might not save the Ashe, necessarily. But it makes killing her take longer. Anything that keeps your dive locked down, even for a few seconds, kills a dive team.
Thatās time where your supports get counter dove and killed. Or for a brawly tram comp to catch you out without mobility options of your own.
We dont need nor want Dive back. Widow and Ashe should be diveable by 1 person effectively (if they are alone). Dive Meta solves nothing but replacing cancer with more cancer.

Wish people would realize that TTK in this game isnāt always a constant. It depends on many factors and even then it is way higher than every modern FPS.
Ashes shotgun ability not only knocks her away from you but it knocks her target back as well. Sheās able to create massive distance between herself and the target diving her. Just another reason why the current boop system is so stupid. With the old boop system, sheād still be able to create distance by knocking herself back, but that boop on the target would just stop them in place rather then knock them back 20 meters.
Ball does counter Widow and anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you snake oil. As for the other dive heroes, DVA is okay and Winston is meh
For context on the Ball literal GM level players who have used an aimbot get countered by Ball on most maps (sometimes being an aimbot is just too strong on the perfect widow map). That is how strong the counter is that even if someone is a literal aimbot with GM level game sense they still get countered.
Because those people donāt understand Dive.

Why other heroes are countered that hard by their counters but snipers areānt?
Especially considering how impactful a good sniper can be.
Why is it not normal for snipers to get help from their support but other dps should have healing.
Itās a team based game, heroes should rely on each other and not just go solo.
Itās important heroes will have clear weaknesses in order to keep the game balanced and not just a normal fps where everything goes.

Oh yeah, you arenāt going to kill him. But heās also unlikely to kill you unless your team lets him focus you without focusing him back and also doesnāt offer you any healing. You can evade or knock away the original dive and after that Ball canāt stick around long enough to slowly shoot down a 200 hp hero.
He basically either has to catch you completely by surprise and without assistance or catch you far away from the rest of your team, and in a position where you canāt retreat to somewhere he canāt easily follow (like inside a window).
So Pharah and basically every close range hero being hardcountered by snipers is fine but snipers being hardcountered is some kind of unforgivable sin?

Widow, ashe, mcree are countered by dive.
Thatās not the point. Pharah still has counter play against HITSCANS by using cover or dove bombing.
Removing a HITSCANS mobility or making it on a really long cooldown makes it to where they are instantly dead from any close range attack besides McCree.
They would need so much perl and in low ranks they become unplayable.
