Why does ashes dynamite do 175 damage?

seriously who at blizzard thought this was a good idea, it needs to do 75 damage maximum

Because it does most of its damage over a period of time? More damage in the long run is generally the trade-off for such things.

EDIT: Not necessarily saying it does or doesn’t need a nerf, just that that’s the trade-off. Like how Lucio has an AoE heal as a trade off for a low heal rate.

it should burn through armor like torb’s ult if it’s getting a nerf

with damage boost it deals 227.5 damage

the actual explosion is 100 damage tho, thats still a little insane

Well most explosions do up to 120 total damage (Helix rockets, Pharah rockets, Sym balls, Junkrat grenades and mines) but Ashe’s requires her to shoot it out of the air and most of the damage is over time and can be blocked or healed before it is applied so it deserves more than the normal 120 for that reason.

Also if it didn’t do more damage than her regular scoped shots, why would anybody use it? Like ever? Why waste a bullet to shoot your dynamite when you would do more damage to just shoot the enemy themself? Sure it can damage multiple enemies at once but that’s not a reliable thing.

I think a much more reasonable nerf would be to make the cooldown 12 seconds instead of 10.

Edit: Also enemy D.Va’s make dynamite absolutely useless. It’s the easiest ability ever for her to catch with defense matrix.

It’s got a 2 second fuse (long enough that you can walk from one side of the AOE to the other). Also, a large chunk of its damage is DoT, which is way easier to heal than burst damage, so it needs to be correspondingly higher damage to be impactful.

Blizzard, HIRE THIS MAN

Idk about 75, but boy howdy it does a lot. I’d like to either see it do like nothing up front and a lot over time, or a decent bit all at once.

no

Explosion --> 30 to 75 (depending of proximity to the dynamite)
Burn over time --> 100

Because if you step on a health pack the burning stops completely.

you are right
 and stuff like Zarya’s bubble

Burning effect is easily absorbed by healers.

People in this thread are comparing dynamite to other explosives when the most similar ability from another hero is widow’s mine. That mine has a longer cooldown, no explosion damage, and deals 25 less “burn” damage. A widow mine plus a body shot won’t even kill a 200 hp hero. Meanwhile all Ashe needs is a single body shot from hip fire or even a quick melee too finish a dynamite victim.

Dynamite also cannot be destroyed by the enemy team before it goes off. It is far too powerful for how easy it is to use and how hard it is to avoid. Yes, you can run away from it before it blows up but only if the Ashe is bad. A good Ashe will shoot the dynamite and it will hit you.

Dynamite is seriously overpowered. It’s the only real problem with Ashe. There is no reason at all for dynamite to be doing any more than 150 maximum total damage.

Because 100 of damage comes during 5 seconds.
It is 20DPS. 20 damage per seconds! Lucio simply by standing near you and doing nothing turn it into 4 damage per second!

Just when I thought Ashe was in a pretty good spot people manage to cry about the DoT that can be canceled out multiple ways or avoided by walking away from it.

Lol dynamite is hard for you to avoid?

Have you considered not standing on top of it noob?

If the ashe is shooting it out of the air then they deserve the DPS for hitting the small hitbox

These ‘Ashe dynamite threads’ are getting a bit irritating now lol.

The damage is over time stand next to a LĂșcio and it will heal automatically. It’s not OP in the slightest

To be honest, I assumed that this was what it did originally, as I assumed that the extra damage vs armor was a property of the burning status.

Since the explosion damage depend on proximity, the burn should also depend on proximity.

I think it’s a bit unfair that she got full dot damage, even if you are at the edge of the explosion.
