Nah, I don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. What map are they using as a school? Do they have classes? Is everybody Dva? So many questions.

At least it’s tucked away in a dark corner of custom games and not on display in Goldshire, or even parts of Stormwind.

My niece plays a game where you have a camera and the objective is to like crawl around on the floor taking panty shots. But the weird thing is there’s so much other stuff you can do in it. It’s really quite a quality game and apparently it’s made by one dude so I mean it’s weird but I have to respect a single dev who can create something so well made.

It’s pretty typical for young people [pre-teens and teens] to use various forms of ‘pretend’ as play or entertainment. A lot of people don’t realize it, but we don’t grow out of that kind of fantastical thinking as early as some people believe.
Back when the internet was mostly just older men (because few could afford the rather superfluous luxury of a home computer, on average, at the time. It was seen as pretty wasteful, like buying a boat or ski jet, you couldn’t do that much with them pre-internet) it was a common mentality that they would all be 40 year old creeps, because that’s all that was on the internet.
These days though, kids are on the internet everwhere, and considering how many other options for ‘that kind’ of RP are out there, I’d wager that the ones in overwatch are… Probably actually children. Just looking to RP out being at school and having a fun time with peers in a way they don’t feel like they can do in real life; it’s a wish fulfillment more often than not, and wishing for a fun or cool school experience is one of the most normal fantasies anyone can have.
The pervs are probably elsewhere, more likely than not. It’s not 1999.

If some people walking around as D.va pretending to be in highschool is sick, then you may want to get off the internet now, because what’s actually sick will probably kill you.
There’s nothing wrong with people LARPing or RPing, guys, it’s perfectly normal. It’s called being creative, and having fun. Stop being so reactionary.
‘Sick’ is stuff that I’d get banned for describing on this forum.

Huh? I understand my post was very generalising at best but I was more so referring to this part in particular.
I’ve had my fare share of encounters with groomers. Of course that doesn’t apply to every RP lobby or similar places but it does leave a bad taste. I admit it was a bit of a throw-away comment.
I doubt anyone over 12 will be wasting their time with that.

Yeah but acting like things that genuine children do is somehow gross or tainted because SOME guys have decided to be creeps is just bad behavior. You’re basically misconstruing something that kids do and have every right to do and telling them that they shouldn’t do it; even if you don’t discourage them, simply acting like your knee jerk reaction is ‘those are obviously creeps’ is going to be discouraging to the kids who read those comments. If you’re legit 12 years old and just having fun with your friends, you don’t need to be made to feel bad for it just because a few adults in the world are messed up. That’s not your fault, or problem.
Curtailing children’s natural play because adults CAN be gross is just wrong. Let them be kids. Stop acting like things that are for kids but are also online are just chalk full of ped’s, it’s not good, funny, or helpful. It’s not even a genuine or known threat, it’s an assumption.
The thought of having grown men roleplay as school children, probably with actual school children, is so creepy and perverted.

Not going to lie, a lot of people give me such sheltered vibes when reading stuff like that. But it makes me really happy that they have not had to deal with genuine evil. Its a really good thing.

I got all this just because I think, that most of this “RP” are made by grown men? Yeah, sorry I was specificly reacting to OP´s “love allowed”. I am on RP server in WOW, just causal player, who try to role play just normal stories and play with guilds D&D and you have no idea what pervs and creeps I ran into there, just because I play a female character.
Also I am not saying, that all of them are pervs, but knowing the world of RP for more than 15 years and knowing the Ow masculine part of community from a female perspective just tought me a few things (unfortunately).
I actually missed that part, and I would say that it should be taken out; I was mostly reading through the comments because I’d never even heard of RP on overwatch servers before. It seems like a terrible place to do anything genuinely fun, you have minimal control over the characters, appearance, minimal emotes, I think if anyone is wasting their time on these servers they either REALLY like Overwatch, or, more likely, they’re kids that are unaware of other places to RP.
That said there should not be anything over a general PG level, like, ‘Hey I’m Brigitta I like cats, how are you’ kinda stuff. All that, perfectly healthy and normal.
Social games help kids develop good social skills with a level of disconnect from themselves, like getting to practice something out before it actually being you. It’s a good way for them to play. (Sorry if I came off too intense about it.)

For me, I’m always seeing Castle rp. Basically, you climb the ranks by being a good person, then become monarch and establish a dictatorship.
If you mean why do people RP in games. It’s often because those people like the lore of a game and want to take part in it or add to it.
As for why people sexually RP. Its because they are attracted to the hero models or personality/hero models of the games female or male cast and want to imagine boning them or being boned by them.
Both of which can be seen as being weird or nerdy, but does it hurt anyone? No. So why do you care?
People like to relive their Highschool years… in their own ways.
