I don’t get the appeal of this game mode, it just isn’t as fun for me as it is for other. So can I guys tell me what makes it so fun.

That is also one of the reasons I don’t play it. Games take as long as a comp game, maybe even longer.

To each their own, I can’t stand the elimination modes but I have a friend who only plays eliminations. No QP, no comp, no other mode. Just Elimination. If it’s not in arcade, they don’t want to play.

like?? its my most hated mode
I can go ham with heroes I rarely go ham with, Winston, Reaper, Symmetra, and Brig.
Honorable mentions to Lucio and Zarya but I go ham with them outside of this mode.
It’s fun and reminds me of a time when the tanks could tank.
Overtime is the only craziness I don’t like on some maps. Outside of that it my 3rd fav arcade mode
It used to be a fun mode, but I could only handle so much of it because of the existence of Doomfist.
One time I had a 35-minute match only for the server to crash during overtime.

Your friend sounds great! I’m not sure I could go without comp at all however… what do you not like about elimination? 3v3 in particular is a cool little competitive mode IMO where synergies and strats are important (coupled with poker-like reads and mind games).
Sadly I can’t stand Total Mayhem, my least favourite out of all the official blizzard modes including Mystery Heroes and CTF. It’s really not fun to play for me akin to a grinding slog instead of the spectacular crazython I guess it was intended to be. Oh there was one thing I enjoyed and that was permanently sleeping an enemy with Ana for the entire match but my crumb of hope in a dark place was taken away.
Curious to see what everyone loves about Total Mayhem, seems a popular mode on these forums from reading other threads.
I like total mayhem because of the XP and just because of how much you can stall

Sombra is so much fun to play against.
EMP is a fun game mechanic.
It’s fun! On days where they aren’t running Winston Zarya (given we have no Sombra), and that’s only if you get people that don’t know that some heroes just aren’t good in Mayhem, it’s fantastic to send plenty of D.Va bombs into the enemy!
And that makes me think that Mayhem actually does have a meta. And it’s rather annoying.
Because I’m human and have free will. Not everyone is like you.
