FYI, squelch chat doesnt mute a player’s voice lines. It only mutes their text chat conversations so you can’t see them.
Seriously though. Voice line spammers are the most scummiest, most childish, most irritating players in the game.
It is one thing to try and win by getting a rise out of people (tilting them). It is another thing to deliberately disrupt normal communiation and be obnoxious by asigning a voice line to a letter key and saying “winky face” a billion times in and out of team fights or “boop” or “WOO!!!” or “BBBBBLING!!!” or “Come heeeere!” or “And they say- And they say- And they say- And they say chivalry is dead” yada yada yada.
Whether you are on my team or the enemy team, voice line spammers are next level scum human individuals and we need an option to avoid their annoying behavior.
I do think it’d be a nice option, I don’t want to completely mute my teammates or squelch chat so we can continue to communicate but when it gets to the point that your own team is distracting you, you shouldn’t have to choose between getting rid of distractions and having good communication. People have been asking for this one for a while, hope we hear something on it soon
Muting the user should mute all voice lines as well, it’s triggering when you have fools that just sit there and spam them the whole game for no reason. Then you say something, and they stop playing to do it more often and the entire time.
Even though I always report them for spam, which I don’t think is it’s intended use, reporting people for anything other than abusive chat does nothing, it’s just one more way that we are allowed to be bullied by the game company.
I really can’t listen to the orisa voice line “the moon that wanes today was the full moon yesterday” an orisa spammed it non-stop during a game and I wanted to rip my hair out
I’m just gonna say that what some people find fun, others can find extremely irritating. Especially when someone does it in competitive it’s actually disrupting and imo report-worthy. And there’s no reason to be unable to mute only voicelines, they add no strategical value and can be used as a loophole to troll and tilt people. Just give us the specific option to mute someone’s voicelines, please.
I’m talking about people who spam voicelines 100s of times per match btw. If you hit that button 3 times in the spawn room that’s like whatever.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that when a Doomfist spams a voice line, it’s always that one for whatever reason
As for the thread topic, I see no reason why it can’t be an option. Voice line spam doesn’t bother me at all, but it does bother a lot of other people, so let people choose- everyone’s happy
A) chill the F*** out I am goofing around. Got to get trusted somehow.
B) People who report voice line spammers are the reason people who actually disrupt the game (throwing, aimbot, etc) don’t get booted. Honestly save reports for the real threats, a sombra having a small laugh behind enemy lines is not worth a report.
