Why do we get constantly trolled by the ow team?

I think there are many of us that want a 6v6 role lock QP and Comp Option. Every patch they have take 6v6 options away and give us the worst 6v6 openqueu QP option or 6v6 Meta that nobody asked for. why dont we get a normal 6v6 QP role lock option. is that to much to ask or to hard. its so annying. every other game studio listens to its player base. we get the most hated goats meta option in the history of ow. why man. imho they dont like their player base or have fun gaslighting them.

I would like to see them test 2-2-2 RQ at least. They shouldn’t be operating on the assumption that queue times would be as bad as they were in the graveyard period of OW1.

However, if the price for killable tanks is going to OQ, I will take it.

While I do think they’ve done a terrible job rolling out 6v6, please keep in mind that not everyone wants 2-2-2 6v6 RQ.

thats true but many ow1 players that liked the format before the change to 5v5 would like to get their mode back and not some funny joke of a goats meta. if they start 6v6 comp 2 weeks ago they just could give us this qp version to play. people enjoying goarts meta are for sure a tiny minority compared to people that played 6v6 ow1 before ow2 5v5 was introduced. thats why i dont get it. why troll people like me with constantly introducing and randomly removing 6v6 game modes instead of just giving us the game back we paid for before ow2 went live.

Including the devs…why they keep trying alternative formats

Well I imagine an even truer statement is that OW1 players want their game back in general, and OW1 had both 2-2-2 RQ and 6v6 OQ. RQ players were certainly not the only ones who played the game.

The devs introduced 5v5 for a reason, and probably arent interested in just jumping straight back into 2-2-2 with queue time issues, so it makes sense that they are trying to experiment with different variants. They tried 2-2-2 earlier this year and maybe the telemetry they got back in the matchmaker suggested the problem still persisted and maybe they still dont think it’s viable.

The initial announcement was that the goal was to test multiple modes to find something between unbalanceable open queue and the restrictions of role queue. They never came out and said it but they made it clear that regardless of 5v5 vs 6v6 debate there was little chance of doing 2-2-2 again. The purpose of the test are simply to see which limits feel the most balanced without having to resort to role lock with drives up queue times.

i think if they really wanted to do 222 theyve wouldve just done it as they had 3 years of tests already (basically)…theyre trying all these different formats because theyre looking for a middle ground solution.

and then of course you also have to consider that MR already exists to further emphasize the fact that you dont have to have RQ

It has to do with queue times (supposedly), the best of both worlds imo is keeping 5v5 role queue, and 6v6 open queue replace 5v5 OQ completely that mode was bad anyway

I’d like them to do an entire season of 6v6 222

That way we could see by the end of the season if the que times are actually a problem

I personally have been playing mostly tank again in 6v6 open que. Where as in 5v5 I never play tank because it’s a miserable counterswap get flamed by everyone mess

Blizzard, stop saying 6v6 RQ 222 will have que time problems without proving it with an actual test.

And for the next 6v6 test. Try actually doing a real balance for the mode, instead of half adding it with tank health reduction only

In fairness, a lot has changed since OW1 so I dont think those three years of 2-2-2 necessarily apply. There are a lot more tanks in the game now, and things like CC has been reduced a lot, so the population of tank players may potentially be much greater for those reasons.

But otherwise I do agree. I’m sure they’re interested in trying multiple things before just committing immediately to one thing. I think this is a smart play by the developers even if some people find it annoying that they arent getting the instant gratification of what they want.

Lol they alreay did an extensive test. It was called Overwatch 1. Check the directors take from july 2024 it has queue times graphed out. Dropped by more than 1/2 with switch to 5v5(except tank which was always fastest)

I bet like $3 that the next iteration of 6v6 will be role lock. Or maybe ‘max 2’ of each role. Role lock was implemented after GOATS, so it makes sense to me that we’d see it next.

I mean, it’s still probably gonna end up as Doomwatch part 4 but we can always hope.

Max 2 is each role IS 222 as nothing else would meet the criteria

Role lock and ‘max 2 each’ both END in 2-2-2, but how they get there is different. For ‘max 2’ I meant like instead of choosing your role before queueing, players can pick any hero at hero select until there are two of that role. So not quite ‘role lock’ in the traditional sense. Blizz does love their queue times, and this would avoid the tank queue choke. But I’m pretty sure it would devolve into DPS insta-lockers followed by Support insta-lockers and the last two players would be forced onto tank. I’ve never thought that method of handling the severe lack of tanks in role queue was the best idea, but I’ve seen it mentioned once or twice and wanted to bring it up.

Id say that would be terrible. It would mean whoever had faster internet would get pick everytime and be locked to it for entire game. If you want 2-2-2 without role lock at least have it so that 2 people can swap roles in spawn just cant leave spawn if more than 2. Would cost a few seconds gametime but worth it if a player is unable to play the hero that is needed in a given situation.

Personally I like role lock a lot better even with longer queues, but yes that’s a good suggestion to implement ‘max 2’ and still allow for swaps. People weren’t always clear about how swapping would work when it’s been talked about previously.

Theyre afraid that players will like 2-2-2 RQ QP more than 5v5 RQ QP. Which is why there still isnt an OQ 6v6 QP mode back online.

So you’re saying that the game which had nothing added to it, no updates or heroes for multiple years, left in the double shield meta was a good test of how 6v6 role que would work now?

Not sure what you are smoking, but I want some.
