First Ashe, now echo, they keep adding heroes that make it so damage boost breaks the 200 hp limit from their abilities/gun. Seems strange considering that back in the day damage boost was good, but it was always designed to prevent this sort of thing. Sure it adds value to having a Mercy on the team, but would make more sense to have her work well period instead of having heroes that are infinitely boosted by having a Mercy on the team.
Well, how about 60hps, but 20% damage boost.
leave the staff alone, valkyrie is the real problem.
The damage boost is great, she’s not a viable main healer to throw rebalancing around.
Well, Mercy is the only hero other than Zenyatta that can actually enable & synergize Damage heroes properly seeing as most of the other Supports synergize with Tanks a lot more than they do Damage heroes.
I’m guessing the devs feel like they needed to have Damage more heroes that could be enabled by her to create more Damage/Support synergy, but it doesn’t really address any of the issues that Mercy & the Damage category has.
I think the idea is that Platinum and below Mercy’s didn’t use Damage boost much anyways, and Masters/GM/Pro don’t want to see Mercy be toptier ever again.
Is having characters that pair well with Mercy a bad thing?
It made sense that bumping McCree’s damage over 200 was too much because he shoots fast and is made for closer range fights where it’s harder to evade. For Ashe, it puts her on par with the other snipers for damage but isn’t overbearing because she still won’t be as effective up close unless your quick scoping is just that good.
As for Pharah and Echo, they appreciate the healing more than damage, but still enjoy the damage boost.
Mercy still works fine without these characters, but is it a bad thing she has synergy with them? Completely weird complaint
i think mercy are not a main healer also not a off healer
she kinda in the middle, bigger heal than offhealer but lower than my healer
its kinda fine as it is, making her unique
i agree she need some help, but not in form of more healing
maybe faster ress on valk
or more beam range like +5 meter, idk
It creates a situation where its either both or neither. For instance Pharah is never used without Mercy, and Mercy is generally not used without pharah in the pro scene. Seems odd to have staggering inter hero dependencies.
Pharah’s case would be different if there were other supports that could support Pharah properly besides Mercy and Zenyatta
As for Mercy, who cares about the pro scene for hero usage. We watch professional matches for the teams, not the characters.
For Pharah, it’s typically a both situation. For Mercy, she likes having a Pharah but does not need her. It’s a Pharah problem.
You know the main reason why we don’t use it is because we can’t, right?
When all your doing is healing and it’s finally time to damage boost, another one gets shot at. I use it all the time but it’s used only 40% of the time, if not 30% cause her healing isn’t great.
30%-40% uptime on damage boosting sounds pretty wild as is
Mercy has a focus on healing, 30% or less of the time would be spent damage boosting in an average match I’d think
You can you just have to get out of the mindset that people need to be 100% health at all times
At least I believe that’s a reason why a lot of people can’t find value in damage boosting
Was just wild numbers thrown out, but most of the times you’re just healing non stop.
As Mercy should be, she can’t damage or damage boost at the same time as healing after all. Mercy’s secondary focus should be on her movement and staying alive.
Damage boost is for specific situations, or if your team is already doing well and you’re not risking someone’s life by boosting. That doesn’t mean your team needs to be at full health, just that they aren’t in immediate danger.
So what you’re saying is that if she had 60hps and 20% damage boost, she’d probably get more total damage boosted over the course of the match.
Is that right?
I mean they should completely rework her, but if she can still damage boost why not, maybe the pharmercy and mercho won’t be op.
You know what there are tons of mercy posts everyday, at this point is just on the devs to do something with her.
Can’t damage boost when someone’s dead.
I think mercy’s heal and db are fine. It’s rez and valk that are the issues. Her kit is not engaging and feels unimpactful. Valk is a drab, boring ult that isn’t worth itself, and rez is just buggy.
