there is a thing that bugs me in the competitive ovewatch that i cant just scratch my head around, why would they implemented an early game cancel in overwatch?
i know for some people it made sense because they don’t want to deal with peoples that quits in an early games, but that doesn’t mean that everyone that disconnects in early game equals to having a bad intention, or just don’t want to play… right? or am i just wrong in the head?
I got booted out of the game couple of times already in early game, resulting in my suspension time gradually increasing over the times overwatch has booted me out, and it truly made me scared to play competitive.
or on my personal opinion, why don’t they just have a timeout feature in the game? personally i do not think there is anything wrong with it, beside it would cost some money to hire the devs to implement it in the game, but its better than having people getting banned overtime just because of the server that keeps booting players out.
It is a horrible system as it does not even work some of the time, and obviously does not allow for reconnects before dumping the lobby. How this archaic system has yet to be addressed 6 years later is anyone’s guess… But we are quite clearly stuck with it.

another problem that im having is that EVEN IF you somehow managed to not get suspended, you would sometime have a really REALLY REALLY hard time rejoining the server, it really broke my mental sometime when my friend told me i had enough time, and somehow the server just dont want to let me in into the game

When you disconnect from a competive game, you screw over 4 other people who will now potentially recalibrate lower due to the loss.
If you continue to disconnect multiple times over mutiple matches, you are becoming unintentionally malicious. You know that you get frequent disconnects and you still queue. You are gambling with other people’s SR.
The game gives you two minutes to reconnect when the match has properly begun, just in case there was a legitimate issue but disconnecting early when there’s only 30 seconds before game start? That’s far too short to be safe.
It’s not fair when a team is left 1 man down in comp. Unintentional disconnects can be just as bad as intentional rage quits if you frequently get them but ignore the risk.

ok i get what you meant by that, but an early game suspension and a 2 minutes wait suspension in the mid game has the same penalty… right? early game suspension could still cancel the game after a certain amount of time the player has left in early game, but atleast a chance should be given for those who disconnected in early game the same way as how they do it in mid games, please correct me if i’m wrong.
also do you know a case where you got suspended instantly after getting booted out of the game by server? because somehow just now i got suspended when i was playing on the second map on nepal.
Pretty sure it is a bug, but it has definitely happened to me before. I could verify the match did not close as my sister was still in-game.
While others are saying its a bug, which could be the case, I think the issue is that mid-game disconnects leave the team 1 (or more) people down anyway and since the action is already rolling they might as well give the two minute leeway.
Stops the rest of the team from throwing up arms and leaving at what could still be a winnable point despite the heavy chances of a loss.
At the start, you kinda need all hands on deck to be able to push out. Losing a tank or one of the healers can make things impossible. Since there is no potential win/loss in the next two minutes (since rounds last longer) there’s no point in holding people there when its a highly inevitable loss.
There have always been people who claim to have been instantly suspended after a game. I believe we’ve seen one or two already claim this in OW2. The issue is that prior actions are never mentioned.
There’s a high chance you forgot about a previous disconnect or that you may have had reports against you that have added up, with the final disconnect being the final straw.
ok basically just now i got booted out of the game again, got banned for 8 hours, but somehow i could rejoin back in, and then somehow i won the game, and the suspension got lifted off, its a weird system man
