I mean dont wired mouses have less input lag?
It’s pretty much a myth by now… Just like wireless internet being potato.
its not, its a proven fact that it takes wireless items longer to transmit than wired (although by a tiny margin), but dont pros want every advantage they can get?
The difference is so miniscule that it isn’t noticeable hence some opt for wireless.
Funny thing about “proven facts” and technology…
The facts change and the proof soon only applies to the past.
do you want me to show proof?
If I had to guess? Don’t have to worry about the wire snagging on something and denying a shot you would’ve hit if it hadn’t snagged.
I use a wireless mouse and experience no noticable input lag, so I’m going to say that’s more phoney bologna than a noticable downside.
Snagging could be an issue, but conversely, the major overlooked advantage of a wired mouse is the retrieval capability of the wire itself. For reasons.
Im not saying theres a big difference, but instead of say 5 ms wireless mouses give 12, and dont pros want every slight advantage? you can laos buy a bungee to stop the wire from coming in the way
You can try, but I already have my own.
Time-stamped to the summary graphic, but the video is worth a watch:
If they’re used to any miniscule additional lag a wireless mouse has swapping to a wired mouse isn’t necessarily gaining/capitalizing on an advantage. It’s like console players swapping over to PC, the control scheme is designed for PC so while it’s optimal it’s uncomfortable for a while.
Newer mouses have a far lower latency. I’ve never used one myself. But if it was noticeable, the pros wouldn’t use it.
They may be sponsoring a product. I still believe a connected USB mouse is more reactive.
prob bcz all of them are using the same mouse on the OWL stage
As said, it’s personal preference… Some players in the CS pro scene use wireless mice even tho a majority opt for rather barebones mice like Zowie or Steelseries ones.
Wireless mouse technology has gone a long way. The main reason why old wireless mouse suffer from input late was due to the power consumption of the wireless technology, thus affecting the transmission speed.
Newer wireless mouse uses wifi technology that doesn’t consume as much power and maintain the same transmission rate even at low power. Most of all, many of the newer wireless mouse has built-in wireless charging, thus you see manufacturer selling mouse pads that charges compatible wireless mouse.
I use a Logitech G305 Wireless Gaming Mouse which runs on a single AA battery. It consume so little power, I don’t bother turning it off and the battery easily last me a month. When gaming, it has a polling rate of 1000 reports per second, and when not gaming, I have it set to a polling rate of 125 reports per second. This helps conserve the power consumption. Well for a gamer who play as much as a part-time or full-time job, it may vary, but it will last a significant long time.
PS: I totally don’t even remember when it was the last time I’ve switch the AA battery in my mouse It’s been that long.
because logitech pays them money to advertise their mouse.
Personally I got fed up with the cord dragging, catching on things, messing with mouse movement. I’d rather have an unnoticeable delay than a very noticeable inability to aim properly
Technically, wireless is faster than wired.
Radio signal is faster than signal going through optic cable, not to mention such a slow thing as signal going through copper USB cable.
Most CSGO pros use G pro wireless, and input lag is far more relevant in that game.
Wireless has pretty much no added input lag at this point, maybe at most by 5ms.
