Why do pros play on 75% Render scale?

I tried it and sure the outlines are big but the game gets so colorful that’s its distracting. Used to play on 100% but found out that my aim is slightly better on 150% without losing fps.

They want to minimize input latency and stabilize fps. I’m not sure if there’s any huge difference between 100% and 75% if you have a powerful pc but you can still get some fps jumps and while something like jumping from 300 fps to 250 fps isn’t visible the input latency fluctuation can be. If you are playing for money you don’t want to miss a shot because the input latency spiked momentarily.

i tried 75 percent once its too blurry for my taste heh i kinda want a little bit of graphics and eye candy. i do have all my settings on low for fps and input lag but at 100 percent res

Yeah I get the everything on low to help your CPU get the maximum fps but render scale seems pointless. Everything just looks blurry for seemingly no benefit because if you’re not sure it’s helping then it’s probably not.

To get more stable FPS even a “intel i9 k” series on 5.0 ghz can’t keep more more than 210 FPS on 6 vs 6 team fights everything on low.

To be honest i stop played everything on low a 300 FPS on my 240HZ monitor

I went back to “ultra settings” at 1440p & 144hz

12v12?

Must be talking about a different game

I have an i7-6850k with a 2080, and keep my graphics settings on high, and am getting 260-280ish consistent FPS with a 49" monitor that is a 144Hz

When I put my graphics at low it caps at 300

LMAO sorry 6 vs 6

You can get 250 FPS on epic settings with a 1080 GTX but that is when you are running around of the map or when the team fights are short 2 vs 4 etc

When is 6 vs 6 sadly is pure CPU thing your GPU is ignored so no cpu on the planet can keep 300 FPS even on the lowest possible settins

Bro if you have a I9 overclocked to 5.0 and cant get 300fps on low settings you may have to many chrome tabs open. You may want to see what you are running in the background.

Or you may have a low end gpu like a gtx 1050 or rx 580 that I dont know about. Which would be a severe bottleneck.

I have a Ryzen 5 1600 paired with a Vega 56 and I can get 300fps all low settings at 1440p.

Any render scale larger than 100 changes your aim, and that’s personal experience after not knowing nvidia auto tuning is a bad thing.

75 makes game render less pixels, well, as names suggests. It makes fps more consistent, if not instantly higher, and lowers cpu and gpu load. Pros perfer as much fps as possible until the 300 limit, iirc.

And last, outline.

No you dont understand

With an I3 clocked at 4.2 ghz you can get 300 FPS

1.- While you WALK on the map
2.- When the team fights are short like 2 vs 2 or 1 vs 1
3.- When there is less than 6 people on screen

When is 6 vs 6. YOU WILL NOT GET more than 200 FPS during team fights. A lot of pros stake this even SINATRA go look for the video he explain that

Im waiting for the next Intel 10k versions to see that I9K can at least push 250 FPS on team fights

Also less tiring on your eyes, just my personal opinion here.

I dont know what you are talking about…I sit at a stable 300 no matter how much is going on.

Depends, I lack visual focus when playing fps, so I the visuals don’t register as much as it does on other people. (Or in easier terms, I go instantly wide-eyed when playing the game, good for noticing things at the edge of screen, bad for remembering where crosshair is)

Also I dont watch Twitch and all that but if his rig drops to 200 he probably lied about his hardware.

Would say aswell, input lag and some streamers did it aswell, maybe bcs they diddnt had a second PC for streaming, so they could have stable FPS aswell. Im kinda sure that max FPS on 244+Hz monitor isnt a huge advantage on Overwatch bcs this game is already kinda flawed on design for “proscene” i would accept it on CS:GO or other true FPS competetive games

Look that video at some point he talk about that. The OWL gave him the best hardware on the planet 2080 GTX, i9k etc, best ram on the world

Not computer on the world can give you 200 FPS stables on 6 vs 6 team fights. Even everything in low

Atm i have i7 7700k clocked at 4.9 ghz. a 1080 GTX TI, 3200 MHZ 32 gb ram, SSD ETC. I removed high precision time event thing on bios/w10.

Everything on LOW at 75% scale. On team fights i get 180 to 220 FPS. outside of that i keep 300 FPS stables on 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, even 2 vs 3 etc

I thought OW was ram locked and not GPU and CPU locked like other games.

Not true… I have capped 300 at low settings… in team fights

Flat out not correct

this is true

also, some maps are much worse than others, especially the new ones (oasis, havana, blizzard world, etc)
