Why do pharah's expect mercy to babysit them simply for existing?

Guy on my team picks mercy and this guy picks pharah and thinks mercy is going to sit on him the whole game and not heal/dmg boost anyone else?

Because Muh Synergy

But really, Pharah is so bad without a Pocket Mercy that people think when they see a Mercy they can go Pharah for an easy pocket

because pharah is only good with mercy,

Just like people go genji when they have ana on the team.

Pharmacy is a good synergy, but it’s only good to do it if the whole team is okay with it, and plans accordingly.

You must be on a one person crusade to complain about every DPS hero. I’m invested in this drama now.

Because Pharah is basically useless with a pocket Mercy, but they dont want to admit that their hero kinda sucks so they will just blame you lol.

When people see a Mercy dps players I nk it’s a free pass to Pharmercy, especially on console.

quickly checks the Pharra’s profile

Oh? What’s this? You play Mei?

Well then…

(In short: It’s incredibly annoying; stick with your mains, they’ll work better than Pharmercy any day of you have no clue how to play Pharra)

Gonna double post: so, the interaction we see here is that Pharah is asking for a heal. From what I’m seeing, he’s not asking you for a Pharmercy - he’s asking you to heal.

I’m assuming you have another main/AoE healer with you - otherwise, you’re already hurting your team.

This means that you can redirect your attention to Pharah for approximately two seconds to bring her up by 100 HP. I’m going to also assume that you don’t play with idiots, and that the Pharah ducked behind cover to try and get some heals before going back into the air.

Damage boosting a Pharah for even 2 seconds allows her to take out at least one other person, and you don’t have to keep the beam on her when she’s in the sky; damage boost applies before the projectile leaves just as you click - swivel your crosshair to your team and see who needs assistance below with heals, and pop down to do it. You maintain the tether while turned around so long as the beam has a straight shot, so you can heal backwards. You have a tethered health bar below you, so you know if she’s taking too much heat.

Pop your beam elsewhere when she’s topped, and then heal someone else, then pop back up to your Pharah.

I’d give the Pharah a similar lecture, but this is about muh Mercy problems, so I’m tackling that first.

Here’s the thing - you, as Mercy, chose to play her with the knowledge that you have the ability to reach people at any elevation. Coming from someone who’s played both regularly, both this Pharah and that Mercy sound equally at fault.

TL;DR: play like a team or don’t play, Support stop complaining when someone expects you to apply a strategy, and DPS don’t complain when you aren’t getting value.

He was pestering the mercy the whole game. He flies and gets shot, mercy is healing others and then he started spamming “I need healing” and then later goes “why you ignore me mercy?”. Others told him off for it.

I was playing moira. I healed him plenty of times when he was in range for it, even throwing orbs to heal him if he was in the air but he specifically targets mercy. Moira healing him when he’s in range apparently isn’t good enough to him, it has to be mercy. I was healing him as he was saying this to mercy.

As a pharah main I’m just asking to be healed or for you to use me as a launching point to other players who need healing.

You are the only player who can heal me reliably other than zen or a decent ana. Lucio and other can as well but that requires me to give up my zone of control.

its spelled pharrad, actually

I actually never want a Mercy to pocket me. I like to be somewhat sneaky as Pharah, and having a Mercy pocket me disrupts that for me.

The only thing that irks me when I play Pharah is when I touch down and take cover and ask for healing, and my healers still don’t try to heal me.

Nah nah nah Farad… a unit of impedance… because of how shockingly bad she is.

Edit farads are capacitance. Oof. My joke still stands

I think the more accurate thing to say would be, a lot of Pharah players are only good with Mercy.

If there is a Pharah, I always choose Mercy. If the Pharah is half decent, it’s an instant win. Why would you not want to do that? If the Pharah is awful, of course don’t bother risking yourself for them, but that is true with any awful dps.

Another game, pharah whining at mercy and flaming all game because mercy won’t pocket pharah. Just laughable.
