Why do people take quick play so seriously?

And when I say that I’m not saying “oh, it’s just quick play so you shouldn’t try :)” I’m saying “hey, this is quick play where things are going to be a little more relaxed than competitive”. The amount of toxic teammates I’ve seen tilting their brains out in quick play is actually staggering - listen dude. I’m here to PRACTICE this hero in quick play so that I can feel more prepared in competitive. If you’re looking for this serious competetive match where everyone is playing their best heroes and adhering to the meta for the love of god just go to competetive.

And the great thing is these same people who give you trouble for practicing a hero you’re new to in quick play are the ones in comp games telling you to go BACK to quick play! Like, seriously. Can you just chill? The toxic nature of this game is grating more on me every day.

Because it’s not called throw play and qp is the only mode i play. But i won’t force you to switch. I’ll just give it my best and keep shotcalling.

Did you read op post?

They aren’t throwing they are practicing heroes. How are they ever suppose to get good otherwise?

If your going to comment be respectful and read.

Throwing is intending not to win. They never said that.

Where else am i supposed to play Sombra? There aren’t enough tanks in QPC to make playing my tankbusters worth it

I truly tryhard in QP and my goal is definetly to win, but the whole focus is my own gameplay. Not blaming others and at the end it is still a gg as long as I think I did well. But an honest question? What does it mean to not try in QP? I can’t expect the enemy diver to go easy on me, just cause I am chilling in QP. And not taking the game serious enough can give your teammates the impression of you “throwing”.

A lot of players are annoying to play with they’re trying to learn their heroes just like you, but its impossible to practise e.g. Reinhardt if your team refuses to back you up.

You can’t practise with players like that, so its tilting to see your DPS use you as a human meat shield so they can go on a long and time wasting flank which doesn’t work.

Yes you should try to relax and have fun while mucking about in Quick Play, but when your teammates ain’t even trying & they’re just pissing about and trolling it can be annoying.

Some people are just ridiculous and ill quickly mute them if they start getting toxic. Play what you want in quickplay as long as you know you are trying. Tryhards can man up and go to competitive or deal with crap games once in a while

When you know the winning play but don’t use it. As a tank main, i knew that being on my tank would dramatically increase our chance of winning, but i picked Sombra instead

I try to do my best on Sombra, but the fact is, she doens’t win games, and i know it. This…

… is not how you win on Sombra, but it’s fun so i do it anyway. You don’t do crazy risks like this if you’re actually trying to win :stuck_out_tongue:

But hey, it’s just Quickplay

I’m just here for the Orisa ice cream skin.

seriously I can’t let go of my toxic nature, really. I can’t understand why he is fun

Challenge week.

That’s pretty much it.

Practice in qp classic against other dps players who are “just practicing” for awhile until you have a basic level of competence and understanding of the hero before you force tank and support players to pick up your slack in role queue.

QP classic is for practicing heros, role queue qp is for practicing Overwatch

I agree but mostly because to wait 10 mins to play a dps you barely know is awful.

It’s still overwatch hun and you still don’t have a right to dictate where they go to practice whether it’s oq or rq.

I wouldn’t mind the throwing in QP so much if the matchmaker was better. I see such a wide variety of skill levels in a game, it can be quite frustrating when a really low skill player is throwing/practicing (w/e you want to call it).

They need quick play classic on the same screen as quick play. Maybe then you’d get more of players who have no clue how to play a hero find a place to figure out the mechanics without making regular QP unplayable.

probably cause they don’t want to play comp rn lol

Personally, I have more fun when winning and getting kills, so best believe I’m gonna try pretty hard to win.

Some people forgot what its like to play with random people in a casual setting, especially if they are comp players.

All you need to worry about is trying to win, and if people throw salt at your genuine efforts they probably just need to walk away from the game for a little bit.

Yeah I’m a tank/supp main and I’ve recently experienced an unsettling amount of toxicity in QP while I try to DPS. I’m not wraxxu but because I’ve a gold border with gold weapons I’m somehow “garbage and trash”.

If you want to practice a hero, go play a mode where you aren’t a detriment to your team.

People take QP seriously because for many, it’s literally all they play.

Why don’t they play comp? Because comp is an unmitigated dumpster fire.
