What’s the other team supposed to do? Play terrible so you can win? I know its not comp, but the objective is still to play the best you can lol. Never understand why people get so triggered people still play to win even in QP. It’s so silly.

Guy on my team got so mad at their ball rage typing “Why are you try harding in QP?” and im like “Are they supposed to throw for us or something? Like what kind of comment is that lmaoo”

Because they actually hate losing but rather than focusing on themselves and the fact that they like playing with their feet they instead come up with an insult for players who just play the game normally
And thats how we got tryhard as an insult

I think the issue is more related to “try hard to win as a team” instead of do your own thing to improve the team odds of winning
By example. On comp often comms and certain kinds of strategy are somewhat “desireable”. While on QP you have some “flex” on it. Isn’t about trying to win, is about really doing several steps to actually mess the entire team way to play.
Is fine you play trying to win on QP, but shouldn’t be “at expense” of other folks on your team being forced to play in certain way to do so.
Folks on QP can do whatever they want unless trolling, afk or throwing. If you’re simply doing you, is fine when that also extends for someone else, gets problematic if they don’t want to play in certain particular way. You can achieve wins in several ways, how you do and how you affect your team by doing it is what folks should be aware.
QP is played to win, but with the element of having fun in the process. While Comp is meant to win, but the element of fun is not that important to begin with.
This. What people say in QP is entirely dependent on if they won or lost the match and nothing more. My team has been accused of tryharding just because we’ve got Rein/Ana or Rein/Zarya even though there was no tryharding at all, they just didn’t wanna adapt or challenge. Yesterday got told we’re “sweaty virgins who should go get a girl” despite me being a girl and bad at the game, just happened to be better than them. People will just say whatever to make themselves feel better about the outcome.
If they lost:
→ “Imagine tryharding in QP”
→ “This isn’t comp, why so sweaty?”
→ “Touch grass” “The smell of those chairs” “No life virgins” etc
If they won:
→ “Ez gg”
→ “Rolled”
→ “Wow you guys are bad” etc etc
TLDR: gamers are petty with fragile egos.

My friends and I say it to each other in-game all the time like “wow these some sweaty QP players” but it’s more or less just an acknowledgment that we’re getting our sorry butts handed to us haha, it’s never meant seriously.

I am a Loser Master Pro 5000. I just play for the scoreboard to be perfectly honest. Having flawless games with high damage and elims makes me feel good even when I go triple negative win to loss.

Oh I don’t care about anything they say, win or lose, I also find it funny and honestly kind of flattering that someone says/thinks I’m tryharding or sweating because I’m literally super chill, laying back on my couch, feet up, no comms.

Quickplay is as the name, quick. Get into a game fast and play. But your still trying for victory. Trying.
Don’t be that player who wants to befriend. Sure it funny to find a weak hero who is hiding and waiting for a healer or medpack to spawn. And you catch them, so they bob up and down asking “let me heal?”
Do you? Maybe sure why finish them off when they barely survived.
But playing heroes you know are not even contributing enough to the game is weird. I’ve seen genji players try to deflect a zarya beam or Symm beam.
Or Winston trying to solo reaper.
Nobody staying behind a tank with a giant shield and later complain not blocking.
So many types of people with view points. Nobody is right or wrong. But if your seeing more “failure” messages. Take a look at your own gameplay once and awhile, maybe your at fault
I always imagine them saying it jokingly. Then again, I do try really hard even in QP.

Well said, my question is why do people rage quit so much? Win or lose means nothing in qp. It feels like you cant even have a regular match without 10-15 people leaving back to back. I feel I spend more time moving a payload without any resistance than actually playing the game and fighting other players. It just kills the mode for me when people rage quit after just one fight, why even play at all?

idk. was 29-3 in qp, our tank was trash talking and tbagging when they were 6-11, i kept pointing it out they called me a tryhard. and the enemy team flammed me. Don’t even know.
i dont get upset. but QP is the place to have fun and do dumb stuff too. I just hate it when tryhards start yelling at me for not picking the meta hero or playing into the comp they want me to play.
If i wanna goof off on mei imma do it.

I guess it depends. If someone is getting mad and harassing others to switch, then they need to go play comp where people take it somewhat seriously.
