There have been many occasions I bumped into a stack of people on arcade or quick play, and they said “Alright, let’s go play comp.” And then I say “Can’t I’m in Bronze League.” I often get the reaction “Really?”
Fact is, below silver league is 1000% a russian roulette of bad internet connections, people who aren’t in the team chat, Smurfs, throwers, PRO genjis, and more. I know finding a group is a thing, but can anyone deny at this point that climbing out of solo queue from this rank is nigh impossible? Even if youre really good and start carrying, if the enemy has an ounce of coordination required to focus fire, they only need to take me out, and the rest of team folds. Like a recent game where I was basically solo healing in a 5v6 as Ana, with the zenyatta doing who the heck knows what.
You know… elo hell varies from player to player. Elo hell is basically the rank where you find yourself stuck, and cannot climb any possible way. For some people it might be platinum, for some people it might be diamond, it could be bronze, etc etc.
I can show you replays of teammates playing like trash, myself on fire helping win fights as long as I’m alive, and then us proceed to lose the fights as soon as I get focused. It is a real deal, actually. And no matter how well you individually play like, I don’t know, 9k heals on ana after 1 round, assists up the wazoo, and still lose if the enemy focuses my solo healing butt. I’ve had occasions where I’m playing tank and get 3 picks at the opening of a team fight, everyone on our team is still alive, and nobody follows me, as the other 3 kill me. Things like this absolutely happen when youre in trash tier. I dont care how pro you are. Unless youre a GM DPS who can solo team wipe, trash teammates can help you snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
simply not true. My friend who is in silver, gave me his account and i over time, was able to climb from 1900 to 3050ish. if your good enough you can carry games. simple
Depends on how good you are, my diamond friend. If your true skill level is idk, like plat, it can be a much tougher climb. I’ve had strangers wonder why I’m not in plat.
I completely deny that an ELO hell exists. Especially when you’re in the silver ranks, those players on average are basically players trying to play the game with controllers and trackpads while being drunk. I could probably take my least played hero and winstreak outta there. With a support. With a leaver. You’re probably just not as good at the game as you think you are.
I mean even at platinum players are still working on fundamentals of the game. Today I got rankshamed by someone who spent 300 hours in competitive to barely reach a bit over 3k SR calling me a platpleb. So I queued up and won 5/6 games with ease, losing one to a feeding plat Rein against stacking alt accounts. In a little over two hour I went from 2848 to 3209 and beat the malding players’ career high by 117SR
Too bad they never accepted my friend request, but I’m hoping they at least checked my profile afterwards
Do you know what it’s like trying to communicate, get everyone to group up, and they still insist on trickling? I can hit group up all day and night and they still trickle. How do you deal?
Dude, 9000k heal in one round… I mean, u’ll stuck forever, not because u don’t do heal but because u do it
U play in bronz healing is useless most of the time, heal people who are making kills if there’s some otherwise just kill everyone…
Healing as the purpose to gain time for ur team to make plays, but give an eternity to a real bronze player and he might be still doing nothing…
U play Ana, she has hugh damage potential, just kill everyone, if u can’t aim well enought work on it, then kill every squishi that u can in ennemy team
It might help u understand what u are supposed to do by playing support in bronze
(Spoil, that’s not « a lot of healing »)
Literally no one will tell you that there aren’t some games that aren’t unwinnable, no one is going to argue that it’s impossible you have occasional games where you are crushing it but still lose due to teammates/thrower/smurf/ect. It happens, and no one denies that.
What pulling out that anecdotal “evidence” proves is you have no understanding of what people mean when they say “You’re at the rank you deserve.” Yes, you’ll lose some games due to poor teammates/throwers, but you’ll also win some as well. Statistically the enemy team is more likely to be impacted by them then yours.
Everything else washes out if you play enough, only your CONSISTENCY in value provided remains. If you can routinely over perform your opponents of the same role, you will slowly climb. Period.
Healing is the easiest part of support role, if u can heal properly you can be carriable in almost everyrank, doesn’t mean that u deserve those ranks at all and that u would be able to get there by urself, just means that u output enought heal to enable ur teammate and they can carry u
But realistically, support have insane carry potentiel, specially Ana imo, if u are just passiv healing all day long u deserve to stay in whatever rank u stuck in, and it could be bronze to diams
What you aren’t considering is that a gold player isn’t going to have a win/loss ratio that allows them to climb that fast. It is much harder for a gold player to carry 5 bronze players than it is for a diamond/master/gm player to carry 5 bronze players. This isn’t even taking into consideration smurfs that could be on the enemy team, throwers that could be on yours, a couple other people on the enemy team who are also really higher rank but having a hard time climbing, etc.
One time I did out the math to see how hard it would be for someone at 1000 SR to get to 2000 SR in anything resembling a reasonable amount of time. It ended up requiring something like a 62 percent winrate over 100+ games. That’s just not realistic for someone who is merely gold but stuck in bronze to maintain that kind of winrate the entire climb. So you’re looking at hundreds of games.
You don’t. You can say “stop trickling please and wait for the rest of the team” but if they don’t listen they don’t simply listen. That’s why they’re at silver ranks. That one feeding Rein was plat border and they never bothered to even join VC. Everyone else was in VC and when we made calls to rotate against the opponents, they never came and sometimes even charged in while nobody was watching them. They’ll surely derank down around there too.
The only thing you can do is try to be the best player in every single game. That’s what your goal should be. You should try to be the best tank/DPS/support in the game that you’re playing because if you succeed in that, you now have the best tank/DPS/support in the game all the time. You’re the one common factor in each of those games and with this advantage you’ll have the benefit of variance on your side. It means that after a hundred games, you should be higher than any of the other players in those games
I mean look, I managed to lose one game. It happens. Even Yeatle who is a 4,7k peak(?) tank player managed to lose a game in platinum. Because sometimes your Rein just feeds their brains out while the opposing Rein is having the best game of their OW career. Because sometimes they have the alt account and your team doesn’t. Because sometimes your Cree couldn’t hit the Bell in Hanamura point A while standing in it, because they’re a very inconsistent low tiered player and got to platinum by almost sheer luck while flexing to Torbjörn and their turret did half their job, but they still decided to play Cree in your team. Sometimes you get that Zenyatta one-trick who barely managed to get into platinum, but now they’re against someone who has mained Tracer for 400 hours and is just killing them for free each time you turn away from them while your Ana who is mechanically skilled lacks any game sense so they never heal them in time
This stuff happens in OW all the time because it’s 12 randos just playing the video game. But claiming that there’s an ELO hell? That you can’t beat a bunch of silver players? That you actually lose streak against them and don’t actually win way more often than lose? That the PBMMR (Performance Based MMR) doesn’t lift you above even when your winrate is exactly 50%? Now that’s just bs
Well, I recently get offer the bronze accounts of my girlfriend that quite overwatch, wanted to place it in plat, most of the « smurf » u face in bronze are « just » gold player
Seems to have a lot of differences between gold and bronz, but honestly, it doesn’t. U can have a better understanding of the game than a gold if u work seriously to improve for few weeks, maximum one month as a bronze player
U don’t have to land sick nade and sleep, if no one can follow them it’s useless, u have to confirms kills, to take as much 1v1 as possible (if u can end it quickly = 3shots+nade or 4shots max)
U have to make every 1v1 ur dps do to a 1v2, but by just healing but by killing the opponent
Just, check the vod review I send, then vod urself, ez out of bronze card
Or, don’t do it, stay stuck in « elo hell » and voila
Also it’s pretty ez to find discord that as free coaching available, u could go out of bronz in with one session of rewiev if u found a good coach. I would like to offer my services but I can’t, I’ll not be available for the next 6 months
Yeah but no, because if ur are clearly better (which u are if u have a 62% winrate) the system will eventually just make u climb faster
U’ll win more sr and lose less, and it not so hard to make the system decide u will rank fast honestly, 10-20 games and it begin to make u climb, 30sr win and 15sr lose per win/lose
And my personal record is 50-7 with an high plat lvl at the time
