Why do people come to the forums preaching about high skill

Like honestly it’s getting pretty annoying. yes you should be rewarded for the skill you put into your character but NO your character should not eclipse everything in it’s freaking category because of “skill” THATS NOT HOW BALANCE WORKS.

Edit: my goodness people are still missing my point. YES you should be rewarded for your skill and time you put into your “high skilled” hero but that doesn’t mean your character deserves to eclipse it’s entire category which is what most people on the forums want.

It’s how it would work if blizzard made everyone’s skill floors/ceilings closer to each other instead of the wacky system we have now.

I’d love to hear how that’s possible in a game as diverse as OW, with 30 unique characters, without turning them into carbon copies of each other.

Ps if your answer starts with “first of all, delete X, Y & Z” it’s unrealistic and will never happen.

Easy, just have their kits actually have ability’s that are hard to use, ability’s you could use wrong easily.

you seem to be okay with the fact that brig is eclipsing every dps in the game whether they need skill or not.

Deleting a hero IS NOT AN OPTION image people who grew attached to that hero only to sit back and watch them be deleted…
That is not an option and should not be one either unless you want even more people to quit the game in masses.

you mean like how brig deleted all the dps in the game?

people are already quitting in masses specifically because of brig.

the game is on a decline, has been for a while, and blizz will take the hit of the one tricks leaving, to get the masses that left due to them back, I promise you that

Uh no? If one person puts in more work or skill into something they should be rewarded for it more. That’s a balanced concept don’t you think? Especially for a competitive game. How balance shouldn’t work is how Overwatch currently is with massive gaps in skill floors and skill ceilings.

I feel no one on this forum has ever played Paladins. A few characters are redundant but the skill floor and skill ceiling are very balanced. Abilities have some semblance of design and thought put into them wherein Overwatch’s approach to ability design is to make them as easy and powerful as possible for the sake of accessibility. Almost every character in Overwatch has a much more healthy counterpart in Paladins. I could talk about this for days but quite frankly I’m not going to spend so much time on it.

Release Brig or current Brig? Because they are very different beasts.

And no she doesn’t, stop being so dramatic. She’s not even the most or second most irreplaceable member of Goats.

The fact is that oppressive heroes need to be reigned in and changed no matter how much skill it requires.

Example: The only counter to a Widow is another Widow. No matter how much screaming and ear plugging the forums make about this, it is a fact.

Example: Brig, and Zenyatta being good DPS, while having good passive abilities, and great support ultimates.

I mean, Brig had players quiting faster than i’ve ever seen single flailedly, but that was months ago.

“Shoot” is in the term of “first-person shooter” because you shoot things. How hard is that to understand?

im not being dramatic, the meta currently has no dps hold for a few cases with sombra, who is quickly dropped for standard goats, and goats doesn’t exist without brig. she literally makes the comp a thing because she can provide damage and heal at the same time. there is no iteration of goats without brig.

there is dive goats, which replaces rien.

There is sombra goats, which replaces dva

Snoats which replaces zarya

and there are iterations with moira, ana, and zen.

there is not a single form of goats without brig.

so she is the most irreplaceable hero in goats.

3+ tank and/or 3+ support has been meta before Brig was released.

Lucio is the most irreplaceable member of Goats, as without him they can just be out ranged.

Zarya is the second most necessary piece, as without her they don’t have enough damage.

Regardless, current Goats relies on amazing synergy between 6 characters; pinning the meta on a single character is niave and just super salty.
