So I log on que up for a match… Not even 10 secs into picking my hero someone says “LOL gold border in gold, you should go kill yourself” Everyone else was clearly on alts. I really don’t take this game serious at all. I play my 1 account que up for a little bit and log off. I don’t see the reason behind trolling someone because the color of there border let alone telling them to kill yourself.

As I stated in a different thread on the same topic, People who border shame have fragile egos…
Its why I stay out of comms and turn off chat on my main account… And I only really do placements for the golden guns! 3 star plat border btw…
No sense even feeding these kids, 9 times out of 10 its after you kill them they go into your profile, If its locked they talk crap, if its unlocked they talk crap…
Best to just avoid it all and mute it all! Don’t let em get to you…

The funny thing about smurfs is that they’re usually within 200-300 of their main unless actively throwing. You really can’t stay much lower than that for very long if you’re trying at all.

on my xb account i am a gold portrait and get ripped on all the time and it was the same comment when i was in gold that i get now that my account is almost in masters " wow your a silver/gold portrait and your still in (put rank here) you are so trash wow"
and that is the exact reason when my account gets to high i drop it and get a new one and use that to play on.
it deosnt really bother me being a high lvl but it was beyond annoying hearing about it every time i made a mistake or every time someone was looking to blame someone its always the high lvl player getting ripped on .
imop i think blizzard should have given you the option to reset your lvl like COD that way people who want the blinged out border get their way and people who would rather not have it get their way as well.
my comeback before i muted idiots like this was “sorry i dont have 30 alt accounts trying to place higher than i am so my lvl is high maybe if you stuck with 1 account instead of 4 youd have the same portrait”

I ended up just muting the team for the majority of the game. Figure it was better to not say anything at all then feed the troll more. Once they remove borders I wonders what people are gonna do now
They will find something equally as stupid to attack you over, don’t worry.
Remember that such people are miserable within themselves. Instead of facing their own insecurity they feel like spreading it like a disease. Seeing other peoples weaknesses to then try to put themselves on a moral highground.
It states far more about them than it does about you.

I love my Diamond border and will be very annoyed if I’m no longer able to display it.
If anyone harasses or abuses me for it I just ignore them for the jealous children that they are then report them after the match for abusive chat.

Just ignore them. Since I have a sense of humor I would have just trolled them back with one comment by saying “thanks man! I already tried but the rope was too long” (then after don’t respond).
Then you shouldn’t take the border shamers seriously either.

I think it would be nice if they added cosmetic borders (no meaning behind them, just maybe designed based on different heroes or holiday/events for fun) and then you could basically choose your border. They could leave the level borders as an option, so only people who enjoy them would have to use them. Everyone else can pick cosmetic borders or just have some plain default border on.
