Why do most games feel like you always must carry to win?

You’re on a six-man squad with five other members who are capable of carrying the game, however it seems like In order to get a win you have to personally carry almost every single time. Whether it’s getting gold medals or just always being the last one to survive on the team and having to take the points yourself or some other reason that just seems to depend too often on you. I say this in comparison to the other person in the role. If I am playing tank seems the other person in the same role is always bound to be worse than you.

Of course logic tells me that this must be some kind of illusion, but the game seems to to show otherwise. Very few of my wins have I felt that I’ve been carried or that the other person in the role has done better than me Garnering either high stats, survival rate, or just wrecking the team.

It’s not to say these games don’t exist there are games where I’ve done bad, games where I’ve been DPS and gotten in bronze damage, games where I can’t find a tank that works or I constantly die as support and had been lucky enough to be carried. Though it doesn’t seem like it proportionate amount of times It’s supposed to be happening five out of my six wins statistically but it never feels that way.

Does anyone know why this is? I’m not saying I’m some kind of God but it’s also confusing. Does anyone else feel like The win condition majorly depends on you and maybe 1 or 2 squadmates to carry.

I’ve also theorized that because carries happen, one good player will bring along five 5 players with him into higher SR ranges leaving thus their actually exists far fewer players that can carry even those that cannot.

Idk don’t mean to sound conceited just wondering.

I think it may be because in lower ranks, a lot of the time players don’t quite work together as a team. And a lot of players play more for fun and not to win, or lack certain understandings of the game, etc. So when you’re trying to win and be the best on your team, but not everyone else on your team is, it may feel that way. Does that even make sense? Idk, just food for thought moreso.

True but then this should be true for the other players on my team as well and I should feel or witness 5/6ths of my wins being carried and only 1/6 where I carry myself. I don’t know it doesn’t make sense logically for me to think or assume this idea to be true… Which why it’s so odd to witness at times

I dunno, I couldn’t really say. It could also be because of the heroes youre playing, the heroes your team has, the heroes the enemy team has, whatever. Theres a lot of factors that go into each match that makes every match unique. And there’s many players as well, among them being many different types of players.

Also, if you play primarily QP, that may also be a contributing factor

Because people need a leader in order to band together and thats you.

I just had an awesome game as Reaper where I felt like my team was doing just fine, and I was tearing [Bastion's pickrate] up because of it. Didn’t feel like I needed to carry at all. My guess is it’s just luck.

I sometimes ultra solo carry as a tank.
That being said it’s a team game so most of the time it depends on the “luck” you get with your team and the enemy team.
It’s not the same having a dive team than a rush team with Rein, or playing Ball while the enemy team has 5+ stuns vs the enemy team just having 2 stuns.

IDK for dps and support how the story goes.
