Like, I thought I could at least put away my OW1 disk… but no, if I want to play, “Please insert disk”
Because you didn’t install the downloaded version of the game?
Is this a serious question?
what is a “disk”
is that like a frisbee??
Maybe he’s talking about Phaistos or Discus throw because of the event?
ya know back in the good ol days lol, I played warcraft 1 on a floppy disk I got from a “nerdy” kid back in 9th grade… totally kickass game, he just copied it to the disc handed it to me the next day and BAM good times, I swear it was like 250mb and then my life was overrr altho there was my ex girlfriend after that, that was game over.
Imagine that
Same thing for me only it was San Andreas
I didn’t even know you could copy floppy disks, but I guess it makes sense the more I think about it.
As for me, my first experience with Starcraft happened because a friend of mine was the "rich kid’ on the block and his dad was the first on the street to own a PC with CD burner. A few weeks later, and every kid on the street was on battle.net playing comp stomps on Starcraft lol, good times.
I remember reading some article about, I think it was gamestop, being told to destroy every OW1 disc when OW2 came out, haha. It’s funny that you still use yours.
Downloading a new copy of OW2 will probably fix it. I am assuming you are still using the updated OW1 version. It is weird that they didn’t even fix that with an update though.
Yes back in the day, I am 42 still a kid at heart in some ways,
So the old square plastic disks, I think most of them were blue in color, yea he just copied the game right on the disk and good to go, no internet back then lol, man I loved that game they are still good, I used play a lot of RPG games like original Final Fantasy, I remember my Dad got me Final Fantasy 3 on Super Nintendo one of my favorites, I stopped playing FF at number 7 on original Playstation it was on CD’s big thick case what was it like 4 CD’s or something that was cool too, but that was the last one I played.
I used to look thru the instruction books that used to come w RPG’s back then , they were hefty, I loved the artwork and would practice drawing them, I remember I drew an undead warrior by Chris Metzen from the Warcraft 1 booklet, I still have that drawing somewhere , I am an artist so I love artwork.
but yep back then just copy and paste a game on a old floppy disk lol
take care
Console usually needs a disc if your account is tied to said disc. PC wise I am not sure where this coming from. I bought OW1 in a box set and all that was on the disc was an installer for the Battlenet down loader. I have never had to use the disc ever, it contains nothing.
Funny fact in the real old days they used to recommend you copy your games as “back up”. Company itself told you to do so right in the instruction manual of a lot of games. I remember it in the Dragon lance games like Death Knight of Krynn or first Wasteland game.
think it is a console thing for the disc
The Xbox and Playstation versions of Overwatch 1 that you installed when you owned Overwatch 1 still require the disc because data required to play the game is on said disc. If you uninstall Overwatch from your console and then install Overwatch 2 directly from the online store of your console then that version will not require a disc.
