We are both masters (where stats shouldn’t effect the sr you get) and started off with him being 10 sr higher than me. He is dps and I am support but now he is 24 sr higher than me. Like he has a games worth of more sr even though we basically stayed the same. Why is this and what am I missing?
At ranks below I believe Diamond there’s an SR adjustment system that influences how much SR you gain or lose based on how you statistically perform compared to other players playing the same hero at the same rank as you. Only at Diamond and above does it just become flat out about winning or losing.
Just because you are in masters doesnt mean you dont get variable SR gains and losses.
Performance based SR was removed in relation to other players playing the same hero as you.
Performance based SR regarding how well you are playing in general is still there.
The game likely has your friend at a slightly higher MMR, subsequently he will gain more for a win.
In other words the games MMR system believes he needs to go a little further up than in relation to you.

support has always been shafted by the system. this has always been the case since the switch to a number based SR system.
