For the Anniversary 2019 event, I got some of the really cool skins and some others that are awesome too. Why do I feel like I got absolutely nothing? It’s like I feel very incomplete, to be fair.

The skins would give me more satisfaction if I could perhaps mix & match stuff, customise more, etc

Anniversary has always been one of the least satisfying events. Other events give you a feeling, a vibe, that you are proud to participate in. When you play Summer Games, you’re embraced with good times. When you play Halloween Terror, you feel autumn creeping on your soul. When you play Winter Wonderland you’re taken back to childhood snowball fights. Chinese New Year lets you feel culture and celebration, and Archives immerses you in the world. This is what makes all those events feel so fun and complete.
With Anniversary though, it’s just Overwatch. At best it’s a hodgepodge of all the others. For that reason, it will never feel complete.

Anniversary makes me feel more skins should be added to base game.

I liked the random PVE scenarios in Arcade. All it did though is show me that it’s sorely needed naturally.
People overlook the fact that when ALL the cosmetics are available to get your chances of getting the new anniversary skins are verrrrrry slim, hence why you’re better off just buying the skins you want with coins
After 3 years, the events arent fun anymore. I used to look forward for Archives because it gave a cool comic and a PvE mode where you can be less salty at arcade. Now it’s just skins, cosmetics, new heroes with little backstory and no progression on the established lore
Anniversary is what you save your credit all year for and just go on a huge shopping spree. The gameplay has pretty much always been lackluster, this year especially that featured two awkward game modes non-stop that only appealed to a niche group of people who didnt get tired of them after their first few wins.
Is it harder to earn credits in Anniversary?
Yup you gotta realize those boxes have EVERYTHING, so unless you have alot of the cosmetics already your not gonna be getting as many duplicates on things like legendaries which usually are the main credit source besides bulk credits. It’s always good to stockpile credits before anniversary so you can avoid the RNG and get what you want towards the end for sure.
