Ehh how do you even avoid Widow’s line of sight? On so many maps there’s just ridiculous amounts of open space for the objectives and not a whole lot of flank routes.
Like the counterplay options to a ranged hitscan one shot are, outsnipe her on Widow, hide behind a wall or play Sombra
To this day she’s still one of the most in interactive heroes in the entire game

Bold of you to assume that these people think. I trained my pet goldfish to play OW, and even he knows not to give widow free kills. The goldfish community is literally smarter than OW npcs confirmed.

I think it’s just a psychological thing.
Do you feel the enemy teams are “NPCs” at other times?
We seems to notice the bad things more consciously than the good things, like you don’t notice you are in a winning streak, but it’s becomes very apparent when you are in losing streak.

Widow line of sight if wide and vast mate. And flank routes can be slow. Or you can be noisy and they react accordingly. Plus it’s a lot more noticeable in 5v5 when an enemy player is missing but hasn’t died recently. If the Widow is aiming super well, you’re probably not getting lemmings. You’re probably just having your team sniped. They can’t all just, survive her headshots. Sure if they make no effort at all to strafe or move sporadically over an entire match of Widow dominance maybe. But otherwise, what do you want them to do?
Comminicate with the team. An active tank can cover the team while rotating etc. Its actually kinda easy with good game sense and communication

Vc is better than ping for getting people to at least not walk directly into her scope. I start vc comming her location for teams that keep getting popped by her and it usually encourages my tank to dive or a dps to flank. Try that if you’ve got a mic and map knowledge. (Say “Widow top right bridge” not just “care Widow” if you can, etc.)
Your D.va goes ‘We’re outnumbered!’ but boosts into the enemy anyway and de-mechs. It’s ingrained into my mind.

It’s an answer, but not one you’re willing to stretch for. That’s fine. Just keep in mind that you could have, the same way your team could have done more to raise awareness as well.
I mean you can point her out sure, but then what? That whole sightline is just covered completely. Say you’ve just captured 1st on Rialto, now you’re at 2nd point on the bridge, Widows on defence
Option 1. Hide
2. Get domed
3. Snipe Widow back
4. Sombra
Are you saying that he is the one playing incorrectly and should join his team in walking straight at Widow until he dies? Agreed…
Assuming Widow is not using wall hax:
- Sombra invis
- Barrier Tank or Zarya bubble
- zig-zag and hope you don’t lag
- avoid long sniper lanes
- use cover
- go in and out of buildings
- use more cover
- Bap Lamp
- be a better Widow counter-sniper. Shoot 1st and don’t miss
- use crouch randomly
Did I mention cover?
Learning to bait her shot is a big one, too. If you have to cross her sights, peek it for a millisecond then immediately retreat to wait for the full-charged shot. Then go, while she’s less lethal.

What it means is, you’re just as likely to have opponents think you’re an npc for something you’re doing wrong. Thinking otherwise is a symptom of main character syndrome.
