Why do I always get the trolling tanks?

Like literally every game the enemy tanks are running rein and D.va or rein zarya or Orisa D.va or you know a good tank duo, but the “tanks” in my team ALWAYS run rat and hog, like??? How are we supposed to do literally anything against a real tank comp with this “tank” duo. Both of them “flanking” (Also known as feeding), no peeling, no frontline presence, no making space, so we supports can’t do our jobs, our dps can’t do their jobs, because we literally do not have a tank line. AND THEY ARE ALWAYS ON MY TEAM.
I’m not saying hog and rat is a bad duo, but for the love of god and everything that is holy, IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING THEN PLEASE DO NOT PICK THEM. Because you will be doing nothing but feeding thousands of ult charge for the enemy team.
No wonder why the enemies always has all their ult available every fight.
I’m just so tired of seeing these “”””””tanks”””””” on my team, because if the enemy picks a somewhat serious tank comp we literally can’t do anything. Because you already know these guys will NEVER SWITCH even if their life depended on it.

okay so if this is a bait this is really good, but if it isnt…

flanking isnt feeding, flanking is a powerful strategy that when used well can change the entire game

IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO POSITION PROPERLY DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TANKS, cause its not their fault

his name is hammy boi show him some respect

Don’t really know exactly what you mean. I even picked Baptiste which is a hero I wouldn’t really pick just to try and win. But then again we simply couldn’t do our job because we supports has 0 peel and the Dps had no space to work.

Rein/Dva is a better tank lineup than Hog/Ball, but it’s still possible to win with hog/ball. You just have to figure out how to maximize value and capitalize off of whatever they’re doing, good or bad. Zen is typically good for this from the healer side of things, as ranged dmg and discord helps ball and hog. For DPS, Hanzo, Widow, Tracer, etc are all great at that too.

Sure, but there is a diff between good flanking and just going on crazy flanks trying to get kills but just dying and feeding the enemies ult charge. And that is my problem.

Oh yeah, let me try to position against a doomfist diving me the entire game, or the Mccree going on crazy flanks and flash fanning me. Even if you position well you still need the help of your team. Unfortunately.

Lol? How exactly do you know the OP is a troll?

Here’s the dilemma of OW: You want to get better at the game, but you don’t want to get higher MMR at the game. Since you don’t want to get higher MMR at the game, you don’t really want to get better at the game.

Why don’t you want a higher MMR? Because this is exactly what happens thanks to the wonderful handicapped matchmaking system. More than often due to your high MMR you will be the perfect filler for teams that are a bit short on skill compared to the opponents and it’s very easy to “balance” things around this way. At the same time though due to your own high MMR it’s very tough to find similarly skilled players to play with you so the matchmaking system will most likely throw in teammates that are slightly worse than your opponents while your opponents are worse than you, seemingly “evening out” the teams

However where as handicapped matchmaking works in a variety of other games, it doesn’t work in OW at all. The team with more highly varying players almost always loses the match and a big part of that issue is the inability and unwillingness or lower MMR’d players to be highly flexible around the match and to put aside their own personal biases even if it ends up costing them the entire game. This is what very likely is happening with your tanks

Another thing that has pushed Zarya/D.va, Hog ‘N’ Ball torture and other trolly comps into many matches is simple priority pass farming. Players press the flex queue and then turn their brains out. They pick up a DPS heavy tank and just fool around with it until the defeat screen or victory screen pops up. Then they have a moment to think about what they wanna do next and either spend the priority pass or farm another

Priority pass farming like this is where players heavily sandbag the matches is highly reportable btw. Back when you got 2 priority passes from one flex queue match regardless of whether you won it or not, they even did a large manual banwave to get rid off the players abusing the system

I had no idea this is even something that happened. Very interesting, thanks for sharing.

I agree, however I feel like Zarya and D.va is a better tank comp to work with, because even if they focus mains on Dps, they still have defensive capabilities and they will probably use them every once and a while, especially Zarya that needs to use the bubbles to get charge.

It is? We can actually report people for this?

Yeah but the thing is that in these comps it’s really hard to get any energy as Zarya while D.va doesn’t have the space to get into effective range. It would require heavy projectile comps to get these 2 working as they’re what these heroes are good against. Personally I find Hog/Ball the superior out of all the weird comps (if we don’t count Hog/Zarya which is a legit comp) because they have actual synergies and due to that they were a meta comp not even that long ago

It depends. If someone is playing flex queue and is just bad at the tanks but still tries to play the game properly and clearly is where a tank should approximately be but just happens to do everything wrong, that’s not reportable. That’s just someone in the flex queue who doesn’t know how to play tanks that well

But if someone just picks tanks and goes on an endless flank spree without ever achieving anything and clearly doesn’t give a single about winning the game or playing properly or being a teammate at all and just keeps doing really weird stiff nobody who would actually care about doing well wouldn’t do, it’s them throwing the match. Just because someone doesn’t want to lose the game intentionally doesn’t mean that they aren’t throwing. They can just actively not try to win the game (which doesn’t mean tryharding) and it’s the same thing

Yeah that makes sense. I’ll keep that in mind, thank you.

What rank are you in??

That game had a combinated SR of 3000 and something.

Duo with a tank player you trust.

I usually do that but both of them were offline…. And I wanted to get placements out of the way….

The only thing you can do in those situations is go with the flow. Play lucio and stick to your hog. Speeding him in and out of flanks and helping him secure kills. Moira also works in these situations. If you are on dps then flank and dive with your hammond on tracer or genji.

Sometimes you have to just say stuff it and play some kind of weird deathmatch flanky comp to get the job done.

It doesn’t always work out but it’s a hell of a lot more fun than getting dove while just hanging around the playload waiting for the enemy doom to flank you.

Ball hog is a legitimate comp, usually you run zen mercy or zen brig along with it, also dps can’t really choose heros that need space (aka close range heros) you just gotta run double hitscan mercy/brig zen and hope for the best.

It’s called Queue Dodging.

So yeah, you better get used to it since Role Queue isn’t going away
