But you don’t need to counter Mercy to win, especially if she’s playing suboptimally.

You just… Play the game well.

But for specific advice, if you struggle winning into Mercy pockets, try pressuring the tank more.

Still doesn’t help the majority of the roster who can’t desl with a Mercy or find super jump problematic

Remember. Super jump was never an intented mechnic. It was first a glirch discovered bt rhe Mercy crusade.

Healers need to die to allow the enemy to die.

Healer may be my worst role but even I know that.

Aside from ridiculous dps to one shot headshots. Nothing would kill a perfectly healed test outside of ultimates.

So the usual play is to farm ultimate and wait for that right moment.

Issue here is…everyone else is fsrming ultimates.

Mercy can’t be in two places at once. If she’s pocketing a DPS, the enemy tank will get chunked by the time she rotates to them.

If you force her to heal the tank, the tank still has to sede space and fall back, and the enemy DPS is no longer getting pocketed.

So this opens a few opportunities. You can either kill the Mercy, push, or collapse on the DPS. No matter what you’re making proactive plays and they all depend on execution.

As an aside:

You won’t be able to kill someone getting double pocketed, but many picks can kill people through Mercy heals alone. 55 hps means nothing against a lot of heroes.

Almost every hero in the game is unique in their own way. That’s not why Mercy gets hate.

Except your argument is that Mercy is unique in a completely alien way to any other character. So Azrael’s point stands.

Your problem with Mercy is that she is definitively unique.

But they also argue that people don’t play Mercy because she’s unique because she’s not all that unique

This reminds me of someone here that is best forgotten.

Im a mercy/brig main but when i play dps i notice i hate playing against mercys because i put in all that hard work to hit those shots while that dumb mercy is healing them then once i get the kill hooray the mercy is able to rez behind a wall and im not able to do anything about so i really do understand why dps players dont like her

I suspect not. The enemy team might “hate” the enemy Mercy. But then Mercy’s DPS generally love/like her, if the number of 5-star endorsed Mercys are any indication. People seem to “thank” her, more than dis her IMHO.

DPS in general hate Mercy, since they regularly demand nerfs to her.

And literally everyone hate damage boost, because unlike discord, it doesn’t give “you are about to die” warning to whoever is about to be shot.

I just don’t like how res currently works (damage boost is also an issue but res is more impactful). If I play reaper and kill a tank or a high value dps, her GA allows her to res in the air/ with a good amount of leeway when it comes to distance (have seen it many times up to around 3m in the air or away from the dead teammate) completely negating the play with a push of a button. Yes the ability can be risky, but many times thats not how the gameplay works out. Add on top of that the passiveness of her base gameplay to impact and it seems a bit hypocritical that the concensus of Blizzard is that less technically advanced dps ( Reaper, junkrat-r.i.p S2 JR, Sym, Mei ,etc.) SHOULDN’T be seen above plat/diamond in healthy numbers while Mercy should always be able to be near the top for meta heroes or something is wrong. Like nothing against Mercy players but she does not take nearly as much skill as she did in OW1 (Blizzard’s fault on that), but her abilities now have more value due to the change to 5v5 reducing shields in play and the gigabuffing of tanks.

DPS players cry about any support nothing new here.

And supports cry about dps when they get killed (i.e. genji and tracer in massive amounts during S1). There are abilities that may seem overtuned depending on your hero choice and team comp, but for most heroes in the game they are balanced by the weaknesses of rest of that character’s kit. Such is the game no?

that isnt necessarily true. for example i find playing with and against lucio speed to be fun.

“Press Q=Team Kill” should not be a thing. That’s just my opinion.

when my team gets a pick but we are too far away to punish a mercy reviving its almost like we did nothing after wasting so much resources, you as a singular player cannot do anything about res, it HAS to be team coordinated to shut down, its not fair at all, when our team gets a dps pick or a support pick, she just gets them back to life in 1.75 seconds
