Im sorry, but I dont really fancy playing a half baked game
Most of the time there is still another leaver, I am way behind ult charge, game is like 30 seconds to being over, my team is getting smoked

Even worse when you insta-leave a map like Paris and it puts you back in the same game after the assembly timer runs out so you get a penalty when you leave again. Gotta add that avoid every time, but often with Paris and HLC the person you avoid also leaves and you get sucked right back in and get that leaver penalty anyway. Sometimes more than once.
I love how backfilling directly into the defeat screen counts as a loss on your record, but doesnāt give you any points towards event skins.
SOOOOO many problems would be solved with the addition of map vetoing. Hell, I will settle for the removal of paris and horizon from QP.
6 years and nothings been done about it
They really shouldnāt. Iām on a penalty more than often for dodging every backfill together with Paris/HLC that have been popping up in my games for an absurd amount lately. Like not backfill Paris/HLC, but an insane amount of fresh paris/HLC maps
Questions like this have been answered a while back when Jeff Kaplan was still around. Here is one key response.
When you backfill, you should automatically be given 150 points because not only do you have to suffer an embarrassing defeat that you had NOTHING to do with, you can neither give or receive credits.
IOW, what possible benefit is it to the player who is forced into a last moment defeat?
Oh and sometimes, the voice says VICTORY while the screen says DEFEAT (and itās always on a loss).
Well he never did anything about it before he left, did he? Quoting this does nothing.
I think at this point itās clear that either the developers donāt play their own game, or they just have complete utter contempt for their playerbase
it is has not been possible to have a proper game of paris or space paris for over a year now
I had 30 leavers in my last game of leaver colony
yet somehow both are still in the rotation
Honestly they should just let you pick what maps you want to queue for and play. At least in quickplay. That way you wonāt have 50 leavers everytime Paris/HLC comes up and the people that leave donāt have to waste their time.
You receive a significant XP bonus when you complete a Backfill game. You also are granted a priority requeue and guaranteed to not backfill again for the immediate following match.
It is expected there to be more changes to Overwatch 2, but one thing that has been improved on is that you donāt get backfilled on a following match if you decide to queue for a different game mode after the one who were backfilled on.
Really? Iāve seen priority requeue but Iāve also backfilled immediately afterwards.
And what is āsignificantā XP bonus when youāre there 15 seconds and not even able to reach the point?
ZERO.
Last I played QP I did not see such behavior. If you see such behavior, please share the replay codes of the consecutive matches in a new topic in Bug Report
Will do. Iāve also been taking screenshots of team makeup to prove disproportionate make ups.
Do you mean screenshots of matchmaking? First if this is in any non-Competitive mode, any information collection is irrelevant as non-Competitive modes provide absolutely no information about each playerās hidden matchmaking rating. The user XP level is not a contributory factor of skill but merely time played and the Overwatch team have specifically stated that they do not account for that in matchmaking. Secondly, if this is Competitive, you are welcome to share them with me and I can run a report that estimates how fair the match is based on the information you provide (note the most helpful screenshot is the starting screen that shows the average team SRs). Remember in Competitive, a match can be calculated to be widespread as 40%/60% and still be considered a valid match (which can be as much as a 500 skill rating average difference between the two teams).
Why are non-competitive modes so varied? For instance in my case, I have only won one game in fourteen and my three month winrate hovers around 25%.
The majority of the losses are embarrassing. We either get rolled or we arenāt even allowed out of spawn. I am not exaggerating. You can look at my records.
It just makes for a very frustrating experience when your opponents have four gold players on their team, shielded Bastions, Torbs with Mercyās etc and you have Widow.
Not to make any excuses but Iām a disabled Veteran with nerve damage in my right hand. I am horrible at hit scan characters.
EDIT: I have also noticed that I continually am paired with the same people, usually three or four. They are never on the other team. I am also usually opposed to the same two or three people. It is far too many times a day to be a coincidence.
Reminds me of something I heard a few years ago from someone who worked at Blizzard HQ: If you are vocal about being Alliance in WoW, they flag your account in all Blizzard games in āpunishment modeā where you are placed in the worst positions.
Getting to the point that Iām starting to believe it.
Apologies for the delayed response. I missed this reply in my notifications.
Each game mode uses their own hidden MMR for that mode, players will often not take non-Competitive modes seriously and just try to have fun. This includes trying cheese strategies, play a hero they are not normally good at, etc. I myself have had bad losing streaks in Quick Play and I have had good winning streaks. There are a lot of quantitative and qualitative factors at work that determine how a game is played out. Unfortunately, very little quantitative data can be used to fairly determine the matchmaking ratings for all players (mostly itās your win rate that determines your MMR because that is the most consistent measurable metric that can be relied on). I will also note, that causal modes have far less restrictions to putting a match together. Unlike Competitive, the odds of winning a non-Competitive game mode can be wider than the 40%/60% range I previously mentioned. There are also no group up restrictions meaning a player who has a Competitive rating of Grand Masters is more than welcome to group up with a player who is Bronze in Competitive to play games in any non-Competitive mode.
I do not have the means to look at your gameplay data unless you share replay codes, but I will say this. Overwatch is a heavily momentum-based game. This means the progression of the match can often be determined by the flow of each teamās ultimate economy. Itās why the first team fight in every match is often the most important one to win. Now momentum and ultimate economy can flip sides, but even at the professional levels it can be very hard to do. In any case, it is this momentum on why Overwatch can be perceived to have one-sided matches. The blame cannot really be placed on matchmaking.
Depends on many factors here but this is actually relatively normal for non-Competitive modes. Matchmaking for non-Competitive modes are more prioritized to getting players into a match fast and that often means players you just faced see each other again. In fact, if the mode you are playing does not require role queue and most if not all players stay in the game at the end, the next match loads right away.
I would speculate this is a myth. I will point out a majority of World of Warcraft realms are actually Horde-dominated, which means if you are playing an Alliance character, you will be facing against more Horde players. While I do play World of Warcraft, I cannot speak to great details on what the social psychology is happening that drives this. I would merely speculate that I think more players like playing Orcs, Blood Elves, and Tauren rather than Human, Dwarfs, and Gnomes.
In any case, I would emphasize that if you do play non-competitive modes in Overwatch, donāt overly stress out about the win rate. Do try to figure out ways to improve your own skill of course and that will lead to a better experience playing. I say this with my own personal experience of playing this game.
If you have yet to hover over and pre-select a hero and game ended fast enough after you join, all the voicelines you hear will be team-reversed too, i think game think you as in enemy team during that period.
I have met that enough times where i thought I have several seconds to spare before i need to tab back in but I didnāt.
