Why did they buff defence matrix lmao

Doesn’t even address the actual issue which is beams, it just made her more cancerous to play against on projectiles

Beams are her counter.

Blizzard ain’t going to adjust D.VA’s defensive to make it so that she can’t be countered.

People go on about gigatanks, but not addressing counterswapping is my beef with the patch. Rock was buffed to be 10% rockier. Scissors was buffed to be 10% sharper. Paper was buffed to be 10% more… however paper counters rock. What’s that about anyway. What does rock care about paper cuts.

I don’t think it was the right direction. Reverting the hero specific buffs, but keeping the armour buff and DPS passive change, is my own gut feeling of what would be best. Then have a think on how to tone down tank-specific countering.

They should. That is literally the answer to fix tanks in 5v5. If there is only going to exist one tank they need to have less extreme weaknesses and strengths. Their unwillingness to address that is why you feel like a raid boss one game and a coughing baby the next. That’s why after I win a teamfight I have to check the scoreboard to see whether it’d be better to just walk back to spawn, swap, and take a late fight rather than insta-lose to the counterswaps.

You can describe that way every balance change the OW team ever did.

No it is not the ‘answer to fix tanks’ because literally every tank in this game has a counter as countering heroes is A CORE MECHANIC OF THE GAME!!

The entire reason we are able to swap heroes is because of countering. If a hero isn’t working because they’re being countered, you swap, that’s literally core game design.

This ain’t Call of Duty. Stop trying to make it into Call of Duty by getting rid of core game mechanics because they annoy you.

Again, revert back to 3 seconds but give a buff against beam damage

Paper asphyxiates rock like an Anaconda. Oh, and it also gives rock a paper cut. Between both of those ailments, rock is not walking out of that unscathed.

There is a whole lot of room between less extreme strengths and weaknesses and call of duty. Where is your brain? This isn’t a card game; the spawn room can influence a fight, but too often it decides it.

Presumably in their skull.

My brain is where it needs to be.

Here are some simple, cold hard facts for you.

  1. This game has a core mechanic of swapping and counter-swapping. It is why you can change your hero during the match and aren’t locked in like other games, ala League of Legends for example.
  2. Heroes have strengths and weaknesses to facilitate that mechanic. D.VA gets countered by Zarya. Zarya gets countered by Pharah and Echo. Pharah and Echo get countered by Soldier: 76 and Sojourn. Soldier: 76 and Sojourn get countered by D.VA. Every single hero has another hero or more than counters them. Picking the right tool (aka the right hero) for the job is a skill utilized by high-level players.
  3. Removing those counters destroys a core pillar of the game, which is why Blizzard is literally never going to do it.

If you cannot handle being countered, find another game to play.

ITS NOT ALL OR NOTHING. They can adjust core game mechanics without removing them entirely. Happened with armor, ult charge retention and self healing passive, and plenty more.

When it comes to counters, it is.

You want counters removed so you can one-trick without feeling like you need to swap because the enemy tank chose a hero that has an advantage over you. That’s not how this game is played. Countering and counter-swapping has been part of this game since it first launched in 2016. It’s not going away.

You are so dense. They can reduce the strength of counters without removing them. You will still be at a disadvantage in the face of a counter, but it will be less extreme. And this would be an act of correction for this “core game mechanic” because the biggest core game mechanic that has changed since role queue, 6v6 to 5v5, made counterpicking the tank stronger.

Because eating an entire Death Blossom would leave you without any DM left. Obviously she needs more room for desert.
