I played overwatch with all sort of players except Bronze. I have two profiles, one i use to play alone for me and one for friends. My normal rank are Master and Dia depends on the role. When i play with friends 4stack then we play with Dia to gold player. My friends are plat and gold depends on the role. When we play and i tank i have 3 or 4 Gold medals 99% of the time. My two main tanks i play are Zarya and Ball. So i start playing tanks i never played to get a better challenge. I play since release over 3000hours and i never touched Roadhog. So i go Roadhog for my first time XD And after 10 games or so it starts to go to the old scheme. I dont have 3 gold every time with Hog but very very often, hust hust also silver heal from time to time. Then i start Sigma after 10 games the same result, often 3-4 Gold medals. Its the damage medal who drives me crazy. I mean Hog shouldnt have gold damage when we have a Reaper.
Ok we can say im a higher elo player and have better game sense aim e.t.c but…
When i play solo i play only with Grandmaster, Master, Top500. Ok in this elo i go to play my mains Zarya and Ball. But the result is the same in over 70% of the cases in this elo 3 Golds, especially damage.
Does this mean DD player suck overall or are Tanks just to good dealing damage?
Damage Dealers cant effectively deal damage without a Tank working with them. You might be dealing more damage but what are you doing to help them do more? They don’t have the 400/600 HP you have with the personal shields.
Most tanks have guns just as powerful as the DPS heroes, except they get ~double the health. I wouldn’t call it “too good at dealing damage”, more like “easier to stay alive longer”.
I suppose DPS make up for it with mobility i.e. choosing targets and making their damage count. On paper anyway. But yeah, Roadhog outdamaging Reaper is maybe kind of extreme.
Exactly—SELFISH tanks can take over the DPS role and reduce the entire teams kills and damage, but since they now have the most of either, they think they’re doing good lol
It has nothing to do with this, its just frustrating that you have to play DD or nothing will get killed most of the games and you loose because our DD are so horrible bad
Yes the game can be frustrating, especially in solo queue. Welcome to Overwatch. You blaming “DD” is just because you are too weak to take the loss and need a scapegoat. Sorry.
Its becouse , its bad to rate a player based on medals. Medals are made for casuals.
I honestly started as a zilver player climped my way to t500. I never looked ad my medals where like of I need to focus on dealing more dmg etc etc.
Mostly what I did is I picked up a specific thing like abilety , ult or a way of positioning and focused on that for very long.
In my entire adventure I never had any gold no joke not even bronze. But didnt looked much ad it.
Yes medals are not all. Its just an indicator for yourself to see if you doing ok or not. If Mercy have Gold heal doesnt mean she doing better then you as Ana. You dont know how mutch the Ana player safes people from dying e.t.c But if you have bronze heal and Hog silver you do something wrong. Exactely when Zarya and Rein share gold and silver damage. I dont expect Sombra or Sym and some other heros to have gold damage but if you play pure DD like McGree, Reaper, Ashe e.t.c i think i can expect that but thats nit the case like i said.
I think it’s more about saying that tanks are a better damage dealer then DPS character themselves. I might be wrong but that’s what I got after reading the last few lines
Tanks have more sustain themselves and supports usually pocket them. So it is not rare to have gold medlas. It mostly depends on the circumstances, of course.
It’s because tanks have overall way more uptime because they have large health pools and sustainy cooldowns. Also, a lot of tank damage comes in AOE/cleave damage where as most damage dealers rely on precise shots, whether that be positionally, precise timing, or precise aiming.
