tbh his ult if he dies the people in the air should just instantly drop and I feel maybe even doing 1/3rd of an enemies health instead of half for failing the ult
Not exactly true. You have time up until snowball lands and starts working. It may vary depending on distance of the throw.
I agree though that Sigma’s ult works almost like that… but much easier, since you can’t really walk out of it unlike Mei’s ult, which is very easy to escape.
But all you need is just to peek to confirm the area and then you can safely retreat to the safety of a wall / high ground and finish the ultimate, maybe even throw a few “simpru geometry” balls along the way. The ultimate is too strong, too safe and cannot be canceled. It doesn’t belong in the game.
Source? It’s working in line with other ults in the same category.
If you don’t kill/stun him until you are already in the air, you didn’t counter the Ult.
No exceptions to cast-time Ult rules, especially not unnecessary and contrived ones added after the fact.
PS: is a DPS main, AND thinks Sigma is overturned, so no “free ride” here. I just don’t like inconsistencies in game rules.
Here’s a place to read up on ults how they work and whats what
Incorrect, though commonly repeated. Both Blizzard and Pulsebomb have the final couple tenths of a second of the cast time after “visually” the device has left their hands. If you chuck either a decent distance you can die or get stunned while it’s in air and it sticks.
Like what?
theres a lot of difference between ‘‘being gently placed down’’, having regular fall speed and taking no dmg as the game doesnt have fall dmg, and being slammed down and taking massive dmg by an entity that is no longer in the game.
When was the last time you tested it?
you cant stop Sigma after it activates just as you cant stop mecha from exploding after it activates…
Even tho I like playing sigma, I feel like his ult is inconsistent when it comes to getting locked out of it. Pretty much any ult in this game that you need to “cast” is being cancelled after you’re, hacked, stunned or whatever but sigma’s.
genji you can try and stun him in ult he is still in ult. Ults such as mei, reaper, mccree ults are not a long time use ult or are not ult that need to be activated or offer any other aspect or new aspect to heroes kit.
winston genji sigma all have same type of ult. the long duration, new aspect ult.
Winston doesnt run around pushing people off with 1k health angry all the time
genji doesnt run around with his weeb stick all the time
Sigma doesnt constantly fly around.
Imagine if you could stun winston and he losed primal then, imagine if you stunned genji and he lost blade then, whats the point of the ult then?
same with sigma. it would be useless.
You are gonna go ahead and say it does too much
the ult grabs and puts you in the air and drops you down right after with 50% of your health lost
You are not gonna die unless you had way too little hp. The ults isnt op if it killed then because a grav, shatter, primal would have killed you. Are they op?
his ult is basically a deploy able too. If he confirms it, he put in a gravitic flux. you cant escape those irl and they are a permanent thing that dont stop even if you there source as they need to still pull back to stop
hmmm just another tank ult i wonder what its name? graviton surge. oh well if sigmas op so is this one i guess NERF ZARYA
Sound Barrier absolutely negates Gravitic Flux.
Before this last patch certainly, and pretty sure since then as well. Not Pulse admittedly, but as a Sombra main I’ve been a fraction of a second off canceling Blizzard too many times.
i’ve already said what kind of ults.
Taking no damage would also be weird. Someone has said it earlier but sigma is flying up in the air, it’s pretty easy to eliminate him during his ult. If anything, reduce the damage when they hit the ground. Not remove it all.
You can kill Dva after she launches her nuke, but it’s still going to explode. Nothing wrong with ultimates that have a delayed reaction after they’ve been deployed.
This is all that I found so pls correct me if I missed something:
Its very different to meis ult. Meis ult is a deployable projectile that after the deployement animation has nothing to do with Mei or what she does. It can be eaten, it can be thrown off the map etc.
Junks ult is again a deployable projectile he controls while using his ult while giving up control of his character. It can be killed, blocked etc. Sigmas ult shares none of this. Its a completely different mechanic of the ult. Even the interaction of Sigma to his ult has no similarities with Junk using his ult.
True, however he cant keep slashing you if you kill him during his ult. Which sigma apparently can. Sigma can still deal dmg to you with his ult after he has been killed. So even if we say Genji and Sigma ult work the same way, it wouldnt make sense for Sigma to slam you to the ground and deal dmg to you if he gets killed during his ult, as Genji cant do that either.
why? OW doesnt have fall dmg, if the person that is meant to slam you to the ground is dead why would you take dmg? It would be like you killed Rein during earth shatter animation and you still get stunned and take the dmg.
Sigma can use his abilities while ulting and he has the choice of barely leaving the ground, aka remaining behind a shield and having other ways of protecting himself or being protected by his team. If he uses it in a dumb way out in the open putting himself into a position to be an easy to kill target he should be punished for it just like any other hero in the game. I see no reason he should have special treatment in this.
its hard to get a good ult out of sigma anyways
