Why can't you stop Sigma's ult?

I mean, you can stun or kill him after he’s lifted people up and it still goes all the way to the dropping people down part.

Meanwhile, pretty much every ult but D.Va’s is cut off if their users are killed before it actually activates (like Mei’s ult, which is cancelled if you kill her before the drone starts peeing ice, even if she’s tossed it out already)

Not to mention some characters like Genji, Hanzo, McCree, Mei, Reaper, Rein, Hog and Sombra can be stunned out of their ults. Why can’t you stun a flying Sigma and just free your team from his ult?

You can only stop him before he confirms where the ultimate will be.

True, but I mean…It doesn’t really make sense that you can literally kill him and his ult still works.

yeah it should get stopped if he’s stunned or if the people he pulls up manage to walk out of the radius. also im not a fan of it cutting off abilities if ur hit with it.

Considering how big the area is, it takes no-time to aim it

Well I guess internally its then like with Junkrat tire where even if you kill him hes able to control it.

I think it’s because it would be too easy to cancel it since he’s this floating giant when casting it.

But the Tire makes sense, it’s a deployable ult like Baptiste’s, Orisa’s and Sym’s.

Same as Zarya(?). 20 blablab

Well one could argue that this is part of a skill players would have to learn when to ult or not.

because his ult is a target ability.
it’s like rip tire or dva bomb or shatter.
if you kill them after they throw the ultimate it still persists.
funny how i never see ppl complain about those tho🤔
not to mention that if his ult cancelled when he died, it would make an already high risk ultimate even worse.

Probably.

But it doesn’t make sense and it’s pretty much not counterable unless you’re Orisa, Mei, Moira or Reaper and has your specific cooldown ready to go or you use a support ult.

Also, the entire enemy team become floating targets in the process so…I mean…Kinda unfair?

He doesn’t have to though, it’s not like the size of the radius increases/decreases based on height. It’s completely up to the sigma

It make sense that it should stop after killing him, seeing that he is the one who control it by rising his hand up.

NO ONE ESCAPES GRAVITY.
But tbf the ult is the longest charging ult in the game and iff you were to interrupt him at any time it would be one of the most useless ults in the game since interrupting sigma when he’s using the ult is relatively easy.

Y… you do know that all three of those are not targeted abilities, right?
And that Shatter shouldn’t even be in there?
And that bomb and tire are seperate entities after being used, that persist without character state changes, unlike Sigma, which now makes his ult being uninterruptable make even less sense?

Shatter can be interrupted. Tire is being controlled. Bomb is already activated. Sigma’s ult is a proper cast that requires channeling. It makes zero sense that it persists after he dies.

I mean, it is similar to Mei’s ult, him floating and choosing the location is like mei throwing Snowball. Once Snowball lands, there is no way to stop it and once sigma has lifted people, it’s the same.

That is just wrong. You can’t stun Genji out of his ult. You can stun him during his ult, but once the stun ends, he still has dragon blade.
Hanzo is like Mei, you can interrupt the activation (same with Simga) but not once the dragons are flying.

It’s funny you use Mei as an example, cause just like Sigma, if you don’t stun her during cast animation and she throws Snowball (and her cast animation is faster than Sigma’s), Blizzard keeps freezing no matter what you do to her.

Its unintented and will probably be fixed in…6 months or so.
