Why can't you join group on Xbox?

On my playstation if someone is in a group I go to them, I see the option to " join group" and also " spectate"

But in my Xbox? I go to a person, there is no " join group " or " spectate.

So the only way to join a group on Xbox is to get an invite from someone in that group.

Why is that?? I don’t understand.

This has been an issue since Overwatch got updated and rereleased as Overwatch 2.

When OW 2 released, the options to Join Game, Join Group, and Spectate were removed without any clear reason while they remain on all other platforms.

As it stands the only way to join a fellow Overwatch 2 player on Xbox. Is to either wait for them to invite you, or join them specifically through the Xbox friends list (Xbox players only).

So far I’ve seen no public acknowledgement from Blizzard on this issue, even though it has been prevalent for years now, and has been reported Numerous times.

Even trying to open a ticket to get answers just gets automated responses to report it again. Which would be fine if Blizzard would even acknowledge that it is an issue, when, or even if they plan to fix it. And if they don’t, an explanation as to why.

It doesn’t make any sense that a fundamental set of options to play with others would be missing in a multiplayer game, when those options are available on every other available platform for tge game.

It makes playing Overwatch 2 with friends on the Xbox platform very frustrating.
