is there any specific reason we’re not allowed to…?
different story for pc players
You can’t on PC anymore.
Vid below of Eskay talking about it for sauce.
@OP No clue, you think it’d be kinda whatever at least for servers within the same continent, but right now there’s no way to do so without VPNing.
I’d fully understand like it auto connecting to the lowest latency server, potentially warning users about increased latency when switching to a different regional server and asking for confirmation but outright locking you to a specific one is a choice.
battle.net app players has a region option
That is literally just text.
It does not function anymore.
Mine just says “Region: Americas” I cannot change it manually, you can force it to relocate you via a VPN.
did the function of it get damaged?
No, they removed all functionality it had at the start of OW2 nearly a year ago.
Now whichever server Blizz decides you’re playing on is the server you have to play on, unless as mentioned you bypass it by VPNing to a location that will get you assigned the server you want.
Unless you are between certain regions I don’t see why it is such a big deal.
Play in the region you are going to have the best connection in, which obviously is usually the region you are already in.
exactly what my point is with the region sever
can’t adjust FOV
can’t change region
can’t use teleporter and ping with same thumbstick
2023 innovation. or artificial limitation.
I’d rather play in the region where most people can speak the same language as me, has a larger player base so arcade isn’t empty and matchmaking doesn’t have you fighting the same people over and over, and where the players are awake at the same time as me…
