Why can’t you save highlights on the switch version

I just got an awesome hammond potg.

On the switch version I go to the highlights section and press my highlight and the only option is “remove”. Which means if I keep playing it will get overwritten in the top 5.

Why?
I have seen other people on other websites complain but no one is really noticing this problem.

Am I missing something ?

I don’t know if the switch has an area for saving video clips the way other consoles and pc do. So I think it’s a hardware situation.

I would think this too but you’re able to capture and save game clips on other games there’s literally a button to do it built into the switch. :frowning:

Switch does have a capture gallery.

All the switch version does is make screenshots, you can’t record stuff sadly.

Have you checked the key binding menu to see if the capture button is binded?

Edit: I looked up have to capture just in case.

It says To capture video gameplay footage:

While in a compatible game , press and hold down the Capture Button on the left Joy-Con. Up to thirty seconds of gameplay prior to pressing the Capture Button will be saved.

Perhaps you need to hold the button down longer?

Were you in a group or a queue at the time? If so you can’t save highlights while doing so

Apparently Overwatch isn’t a capture-compatible game. Screenshots work, but video doesn’t.

Just use the record feature on the Switch

And you tried holding the capture button down for a while to be certain?

Edit:
Sorry for bumping an old post.

It’s not permitted.
If you hold the capture button it says Overwatch is not compatible with the video capture functionality.

I’m assuming the games have to be built with that functionality in mind, and OW wasn’t.
Probably due to an emphasis on optimizing OW the best possible.
