It doesn’t, it goes over the payload and down the back of it.
Because shatter would a pretty crappy ult if you could just dodge it by pressing space and/or being a teensy bit above the floor.
Some payloads are taller than most heroes it wouldn’t be “a teensy bit above the floor.” Why do most ults need line of sight or can be blocked by payload but this one just doesn’t care?
People complain about barrierwatch but then the main shield tank forces the enemy team to have a shield tank since his ult arbitrarily doesn’t care about the payload and shields are the only thing that can block it.
Because he is the dev’s favorite tank and he is the only one allowed to be busted.
he is not a good hero in ow1. How is he the one allowed to be busted when sigma and orisa are arguably broken and rein has been mediocre at best for years
Rein was never a bad pick like ever.
I have yet to find anyone who doesn’t want a rein in their team.
you forgot bubble, or ccing him, or walling, or using individual protection abilities, or just playing outside shatter range or playing split. shatter has so much counterplay
i like rein on my team because he is fun to play aroumd. that doesn’t make him a good hero. he is also more intuitive to play around than other tanks, however he is not good.
Rien is a terrible pick except on a few maps…
I don’t think you have played vs a lot agro reins if you think like that.
I’ve played vs Riens of all kinds he just has very exploitable weaknesses that a decent player can easily take advantage of unless it’s on a map like kings row. Key word there is “Decent”
Players
Id consider bubble to count as a shield since it is one. My point is that unless you’re a tank with a shield you cant defend your team against it. Zarya can only bubble herself and one teammate and hog has to hit a narrow window to stun him out of it other than that your team especially the support are likely going to eat all of it. All of this to say that staying around the payload shouldnt punish you for not having a shield tank.
It goes below because the payloads don’t touch the ground. Have you looked? They float. Why wouldn’t something on the ground go under something above the ground?
then why does it go on the payload too? You cant have both.
why does it go above the payload though? is this an unintended bug?
It would be pretty unsatisfying to be able to avoid an ult by the simple method of jumping. So shatter has a 2m height, and it can climb things less than 2m high as well.
If it makes it easier, just pretend it’s a shockwave. The ground shattering creates an impact wave above. Don’t stand in it.
No, Earthshatter has a 2 meter vertical range and the ability to travel up/down inclines, this lets it move up and around the payload
they chose to let it move up the off the ground payload because the enemy team being on the payload and completely negating an enemy ultimate entirely because they’re sitting on it, is pretty trash
Remember a few years ago when blizz flukes rein and his shatter was going through shields
