Why can a Juno be able to take out Pharahs or Echos or at the very least, finish them off? Why dont DPS have superior mobility over a support like this?
Is there a point to playing DPS when support can outdps in some cases (Zen, Moira) and have incredible getaways like Moira, Lucio, Juno, Ana, etc? Why play dps?
Bc youre flying out in the open and Juno has a hitscan gun. Then if you get finished off by the martian, then thats what you get for challenging her bb gun.
Pharah has far more mobility than Juno. Concussion blast. Air blast. Air lift. Rocket jump. Booster pack.
Where Juno wins out is by having hitscan over projectile and autoaim pulsar. While Pharah can’t accurately target Juno who is small, moving at 50% movement speed, and has a double jump like Pharahs booster rocket.
The trade off is that Juno is support. Most of her time will be on heals since if she’s not, the rest of her team is ripe for killing from reduced healing. Pharah can get double support pocket. Juno cannot.
Hitscan. Bap, Ana and Illari usually do it also, just faster. Juno can just close the gap, so that Pharahs rocket spam is ineffective, but Echo should kill Juno with no problem.
Moira is a stat farmer, whos actual combat value is quite low and Zen heals passively.
If you get out DPSed by any other character than maybe Moira, you need to rethink your hero choice or your support is playing DPS and does not heal enough. Most of the time I noticed DPS players playing a hero in a situation where they only feed the enemy and accomplish nothing and THEN whine that the support only heals the tank or plays like a DPS.
DPS has the largest cast of heroes and still people switch the least.
Well, in pharah’s case, she could! Til the community came together to complain and got her ability to fly severely nerfed. It’s what the community wanted.
I used to play pharah before her rework, but rarely any more. However she can still reliably take on or flee from a Juno with good cd management. And so can echo. If you’re dying to a Juno you’re not respecting her sightlines. And even that is a little weird to say, because her falloff starts at 20m…
Why should support be defenceless, boring , healbotting, aesthetic pawns on the chessboard?
Also when it comes to mobility, they have better mobility than support. Echo and pharah are able to fly, genji can dash, tracer can blink, sombra can translocate, sym can tp, etch etc.
Maybe pick a more mobile DPS?
Ana has no mobility so what getaway you talking about? Sleep dart is not free, it’s a skill shot on any squishy who doesn’t move like a bot.
Have you played Lucio and Zen? Go do an unranked to gold on those heroes then you’ll realize your problems come down to massive skill issue, not balance.
I don’t know where anyone got it in their head that supports shouldn’t be able to take and win duels against other characters that are not support.
They have less of an advantage of securing a kill than other roles if both players are of equal skill, but it shouldn’t just be “I’m DPS, so even if I play sloppy, throw away all my cool downs and miss 4 shots, I should still win against a support character”.
You’re getting outplayed, that’s all there is to it. If you don’t like it, don’t play shooter games.
