it actually bothers me that both dont work or both work, wheres the consistency blizzard
Maybe theyâre thinking of the old English meaning of gay?
Because one means happy and the other means women are happy.
And also that men are happy when the women are happy.
Actually they both mean happyâŚ>_>

Well, you got one of them right.
Maybe you can abbreviate it or something. Like Lez instead of Les.
im not mad about the words its the consistency thats bothering me
Pretty interesting considering Tracer is a lesbian.
Because one word means happy and joyful, and the other means female homosexuality.
All of the people saying âit means happyâ. Yeah, thats true. But its old English. and thats not what it means anymore. Gay means homosexual now. Sorry but, its not really an excuse⌠Just look up words that have changed meaning, it happens⌠a lot.
Itâs probably just an oversight. Theyâre used to people using gay as an insult and overzealously banned the word from group titles. Is it banned from regular messages as well?
And please donât use the âwell they both mean happyâ argument. Nobody in the 21st century uses gay for its antiquated meaning unless theyâre specifically trying to do some kind of fun-fact âdid you know gay meant happy back then???â kind of thing. Itâs even worse when people say âoh, it just means a bundle of sticksâ just so they can shock people by using that one certain homophobic slur.
It doesnât matter what a word used to mean. In any conversation, the only meaning of a word that matters is the one that your audience understands.
To be fair the actual, original definition of the word âgayâ is lighthearted and carefree. It didnât receive the definition it has now until the 1960s. So if youâre using actual English when you put âgayâ in the title of your group, youâre asking for a lighthearted and carefree group.
Words change meaning all the time. Gay doesnt mean happy or lighthearted anymore. You put gay in your title, youre searching for homosexual. Youre not asking for a lighthearted carefree group, and thats common sense
Why do you want to put it there in the first place.
sighâŚ
It really doesnât matter. What matters is the inconsistency with the 2 words.
Actually, it does mean lighthearted and carefree still. The word âgayâ is the perfect example of a word with dual meanings. Itâs current most common definition is referring to a homosexual, and the second, less common, and original definition is to be lighthearted and carefree. So it means both, and as a result is the most likely reason why you can use the term âgayâ and not the term âlesbianâ when looking for a group. Itâs basic English, and just another example of the English language being both lazy and unnecessarily complicated.
i wanted to make a group called âlesbians onlyâ
I wanna hear the backstory
Why?Sou you can flirt with one another?
no not really, i just wanted to see if other lesbians would join
also this other guy makes a group called âgays onlyâ alot and sometimes i wanna make a lesbian only group titled the exact same thing except lesbian instead of gay to insult him
Nah just kidding.Maybe you can make it dykes only.Letâs see if thatâs censored
