Why can I play Comp With People Who Haven't Placed

I don’t care that they were at my skill level last season. The issue is that they haven’t cared enough to play the game this season and are either “rusty”, “don’t care”, or just a combination of it. There is no reason I should have 4 unplaced teammates while the whole other team is diamond.

Who are they supposed to Queue with?

Thin air?

I agree with you entirely. It’s been said before that Blizzard should implement a time limit in order to do placements and that after that you’re locked from comp or at the very least comp points.

End of season it’s rare to play a game without both teams having someone doing placements. Usually they play what they want and aren’t in voice either.

We all know it’s coming too which is the crazier part. The crazy part being that Blizzard doesn’t do something about it. Do they just think it’s easier for people to just not play the game then to try and fix end of season woes?

How would the beginning of seasons work?

No. Let them queue with other people who aren’t placed and only join people who haven’t placed.

OK so what about the 11 people that would be left without a full teams?

yeah no.

Honestly though if people can’t be bothered to do placements until the season end and only for comp points then too bad. Their lack of care or rusty nature in the game simply brings down their 5 teammates.

The simply solution would be give out partial points weekly like the wow system does. So instead of end of season dump, give 200 points a week or something you play the required games. Means that players won’t throw because if they tank half way through the season the points will drop hugely.

Beginning of seasons are the same. You are playing with people who have taken a 2 day break AT MOST. Not people who couldn’t be bothered to play 10 games for a whole season until the end.

What if I finish my placements first and there are nobody to play with because nobody else has finished yet? It simply doesn’t make sense.

Some people just don’t think before they speak.

There is a reason for them not having a time limit for placements. It’s called real life. Some people may have stuff going on and can’t find the time to do the placements

I don’t really agree with what he said. I just don’t want to play with people who haven’t cared enough to place until the season is almost over.

It doesn’t matter in the beginning of the season… when people haven’t played for a week or two there isn’t really issue. My problem is me playing with people who still haven’t placed when the season ends in 3 days. These people may not have played against or with moira to understand how she works, played junkertown at all, played with the huge changes to heroes that were implemented this season, and that puts the team with the players at a severe disadvantage.

Or they played plenty of Overwatch during the season (quick play, arcade, etc), but wanted to avoid the toxicity of competitive until they had to or forfeit the awards.

I have a real life, a real job and a real wife and I find it impossible to not have the time to play 10 games in 2 months if you actually care about it.

If you have a job that doesn’t let you play that much, then sorry my friend but you are the one who doesn’t have a real life.

I know that’s not the case for you because you are just one of those who only talks and talks and talks.

On topic : There could simply be a time limit for the placements and after that you can only play with others in the same situation.

I myself currently work full time and go to school. If you can’t find time to do your placements (especially with 2 days until the season ends) then you shouldn’t be playing in competitive where people take every game seriously. It’s bad enough finding teammates who are trolls or one trick to tilt their teammates.

Completely agree and that is my argument for ending placement matches shortly after the season starts. Therefore, you can no longer enter a season if you miss the deadline. It is such a bad competitive experience having to play with new accounts or people that haven’t even bothered to play the game at all during the season until the end. Really, how is that in the spirit of competition???

Love how everyone assumes that not having completed the placement matches is equivalent to not having played the game during the season.

Is it true in some cases? Sure.

But not in all. And automatically assuming the worst of people negatively impacts both you and your team.

Glad someone understands my point :’)
