We’ve seen it so many times, heroes that are typically fine being buffed to frustrating levels
The mindless tank gameplay is so BORING. Why can’t the tanks that take actual brainpower like Junker Queen or Doomfist be at the top?!
Solo tanking is sooo bad
because the tanks that don’t require brainpower (mauga, hog, zarya, orisa) hardcounter the tanks that do require brainpower (winston, wrecking ball, d.va, reinhardt). Until they fix this, the tank role will continue to be unfun
Junkerqueen is not allowed cause she embarrassed the devs when OWL coaches were boring and their excel sheets said “force all your players to play junkerqueen comps”. Since the pros hated that, they hammer nerfed her, launched the game with JQ trash, and they don’t want that to change.
Also don’t forget we had two zarya metas too.
Lets be honest. I remember when D.Va was Meta and everyone called her braindead and easy. Same for reinhardt. And never forget the “No Aim no Brain must be a Winston Main” Meme. Everytime a Tank is Meta he or she gets the braindead tag. This happens literally every single time and no Tank ever was excluded.

even when i’m on cassidy and dva dookies on me all game and eats all my ults, i still fw her 
doomfist is horribly designed and feels horrible to play into, he also doesn’t take much “brain power” to play and get value out of at all.
The only tank out of these I’d say requires enough brainpower to mention is WB and I love Winston and D.va but they aren’t hard to play and they don’t take more brainpower than the other tanks you mentioned. Rein especially doesn’t require much brainpower to play or get value out of. I don’t know where people got the idea to put Winston on a pedestal, but it must be the same delusion that makes people think Tracer and Genji are in the same skill bracket.
The tank roster, overall, isn’t really hard to play and never has been. The biggest issue people have always had is how it feels to play them, especially against burst damage and counter-picks. Every time tank players have tried to come up with ways to actually tank damage and not get obliterated themselves or have their team obliterated, they’ve been nerfed. Tanks kept coming up with ways to not near-instantly die in OW1 and so they removed an entire tank slot. One of the biggest things in OW2 is the class doesn’t have a partner to cover their weakness (like they should) so it just feels worse in general because everyone else has more opportunity to exploit your weaknesses, yet you don’t have anyone to cover yours, anymore.
Winston is pretty braindead, everyone who plays him knows this, his biggest issue is not getting braindead teammates. if you get one or two people to coordinate with him, you can easily see how braindead his gameplay loop is. There’s nothing hard about his kit and his cooldowns aren’t high enough for him to have to think too much about them. If you get even one good flanker and/or support that helps your dive, he’s one of the easiest characters in the game by miles.
Doom IS at the top. JQ is at least far from the bottom.
Personally, I’d like Dva and Winston to be the best Tanks. Doom should never be meta.

Why do people feel the need to couch their opinion as fact? You’re asking why the tanks you like aren’t meta, which is fair enough. Trying to argue that those tanks are somehow “better” doesn’t contribute anything to the discussion. You’re going to end up with a lot of back-and-forth about which tanks “require brainpower”.

It is the meta makes a hero braindead not the other way around.
If he becomes meta then you will see Sombra in all games! It is the same with D.VA. Every time I play her well I can bet there is a Symmetra or Mei player.
Playing tank is not fun. It is all a loop of using abilities and waiting for mistakes.
And then there is the counterswap!
No sometimes the heroes just get gigabuffed to levels where the effort to play against them far exceeds the effort to actually play that hero effectively
Yeah it’s probably unhealthy but my god I would take fighting an enemy Orisa, Hog, Mauga, Ram or Zarya ANYDAY over playing against dive tanks.
Winston, DF, D.va and WB make life hell as a support so no thanks.
