I’m a Diamond Lucio on my other account; an account that a friend bought for me for Christmas so that I could play with him. (He’s plat.) Now, my main account is now in Bronze (dropped from Gold.)
How can I be a Diamond player on one account (And maintain that rank) without a problem: But I can’t climb out of BRONZE?
- Everyone goes DPS
- Leavers in just about every other match (And 4/5 times the leaver is on YOUR team.)
- I’ve seen a smurf on my team -once- in the last 78 games. I’ve seen LOTS of smurfing snipers on the enemy team.
- There is ZERO communication. 9/10 games no one is in voice chat.
- If you suggest someone go a second healer, you get ignored, laughed at, or told to go away.
- No one goes tank. No room is made.
- People file into conga-lines and run straight into the enemy team, dying repeatedly.
Unless You’re a Master+ player, you’re not getting out of Bronze and Silver without a vast and sheer amount of LUCK. Unless you are consistently getting 3-4 picks per team fight: You lose. I can’t COUNT how many games I’ve had where I would kill 4 people single-handedly and then 5 of my teammates died to a soldier and a Zenyatta. There is no chance of you winning with a team like that. There just isn’t.
I’m not some ‘bronzie’ who’s never gotten out of bronze silver. If I didn’t have game sense I couldn’t possibly stay consistently Diamond on my newer account. I solo queue as well - so I’m not ‘being carried by a friend’.
The system is inherently flawed and I daresay, broken. This isn’t the first time people are in plat+ on one account and bronze or silver on another and can’t climb out of it. This ‘phenomenon’ happens quite frequently.

disagree, i think you just don’t really know how to take advantage of their mistakes (which would stop you climbing further than diamond tbh if you can’t) as bronze plays very different to diamond. You say only masters+ players could carry bronze but i used to destroy in gold even when i was diamond, so yeah i think you’d find it easier once you get more used to the playstyle.

Maybe I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the idiocy of my teams. I can’t play who I WANT to play in Bronze. I am forced onto Zenyatta for any chance in hell at winning (Because I am healing and I am DPS’ing and I am discording to give an advantage)
The discord orb seems to be like a big shiny carrot for bronze players. Without it? They have no idea who to focus down.

Speak for yourself bronze and silver are an absolute cakewalk for the vast majority of the player base.

fair, but if you keep focusing on the idiocy of your own team rather than the enemy’s then it’s much, much harder to climb haha. if zen works, then use him i’d say. you could still play who you want to (if heroes were literally unviable we wouldn’t see all the one tricks in gm), but it would just take you longer to climb than it would with zen i guess.

As a SUPPORT main: I can still kill 4 of them
But my morale drops into the gutter when I see 5 of my teammates die to a soldier and a Zen combo. It just feels like I could kill 5/6 people and my team would still somehow all die to a single Sombra.

This is absolute nonsense, I am high plat player, i rarely play lucio and when i was in bronze playing lucio i hard carried games there, some of them even with 4 gold Medals. So please stop feeding us with bs.

He is posting from his i believe bronze account. But profile is private. Maybe he ca show us his accounts with open profile?

I’m not ‘boosted’ at all. I played Lucio strictly through all of my placement matches after reaching level 25. I play mostly Lucio, but sometimes Zenyatta.
There is no being ‘boosted by luck of matchmaking’ that is the stupidest thing I’ve heard all day.
And as far as being hard-stuck Diamond? Yes, I am. I’m not any better than Diamond and never will be due to IRL disability. (I had a massive stroke. Which is why I primarily play support. It’s easier for me.)
Maybe it is an issue of bronze/silver players have a much different play style and I just can’t get used to the weird things they do. I can’t predict what they’re going to do because they do some really risky off-the-wall stuff. Sometimes that does throw me for a loop and takes my focus off of something else.
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that in Diamond people communicate and make call outs. In bronze? You don’t have that whatsoever. So in Diamond if an enemy is flanking I can call it out and a DPS or tank normally mop it up. In bronze? I’ll be healing 1v2’ing two DPS as a Zen because no one is in voice chat to hear me call out the flank.

First placement is based on luck mostly. Not personal skill. You can easy place in plat with enough wins and horrific game play. Can you post from your Diamond account with open profile so we can atleast believe you?

I find that Bronze and Silver players are happy to team up but don’t take the game seriously so aren’t too fussed. If someone comes in with a genuine positive attitude and sets up a game plan most players stick with it. Most of us down here have to go to work and come home from the commute tired so playing flawlessly every night is impossible. I’ve definitely found more school-aged players are mid ranks tbh and theres a lot of chill players down here. Most of them don’t want to join team chat just to be harassed so being a positive player and working with them rather than chastising them is the difference between a team a 6 players.
Comp doesn’t have to be toxic, and often one person dishing out praise can silence a bully on comms. We had a Reaper play with us who shall not be named calling our Brig an idiot (and worse) for not being able to heal and repeatedly saying OMG HEAL ME and clogging comms. I politely reminded him that as Reaper is a flanker the Brig should not be worrying about him too much and should be instead focusing on our frontline, and that as a Reaper if he could land some more shots maybe he’d get more healing. The rest of the team perked up after that and just ignored his moaning, but we all put avoid after that and ended up against him in the game after. We won after our Brig swapped onto Ashe and focused him down

The solution to team mates dying too fast is generally picking Reinhardt. I know it’s quite difficult to maintain a solid Rein with a potatoe team, but as soon as you get the team’s trust (chasing outplaced teammates dps to shield them, communicating “use my shield”, calling shots etc), they get cooperative for a simple reason : you help them to survive.
I’ve got back to plat thanks to him, all other supp picks were giving too many random results.

No I totally agree with this, I was stuck for 4 seasons in silver just trying my hardest to get out of that hell-hole. Then realised that if I deserve a better rank I should place on another account and wherever I can get that to is where I belong. I placed low plat and have climbed to mid diamond in one season. Playing exactly the same heroes.

The problem is that you’re playing Lucio. Lucio is HEAVILY team reliant, and barely makes any impact with an uncoordinated team. You would have to be insanely good with Lucios primary fire to make any kind of impact, or get lucky like you said. However if you’re an actual diamond dps player, it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve done it many times on my bronze account just to see if elo hell exists, it doesn’t.

Do you play lucio? I am bronze, and i have 67% win rate on Lucio… It is easy for me to carry with him, but i have 30 to 50% accuracy and i aaim to the head…

Focus on their mistake, dont take them as pro, they will chase you even if they are going to die.
They play usually far from each other.
Identify the noob, the pro, thrower,soft thrower and look how to kill the one giving you or giving to the team problems.
I can carry with lucio and at most i am gold, at worst i am bronze and i have 67% win rate with luci.
IT is a headache to climb for those rank,ppl are just… IF you can control hanzo, turret,bastion,pharah, zen,zarya you can climb. I main tracer and i can have a 60%win rate with her in silver and bronze higher.
With a 67% win rate then you should be surely able to climb with Lucio, just keep playing him. If you’re an actual bronze Lucio I promise you the win rate will go down. It’s not impossible to carry with Lucio, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to carry with a dps.

Hi, you right dps is a lot easier. I am training hanzo and widow. So I will climb with them from bronze. I am sure I can go out With Tracer my main. Zen, lucio and maybe 76.
A good lucio will protect all those noob bronze from dying. You can get dps enough to kill a target. You die slowly, and so your team. Can protect a team from melee, junk’s ultimate.
Enemy will have harder time killing your team, you basically protect them while doing silver or gold dps
