Why Brigitte is problematic

Brigitte needs a pocket to get value. She can’t even handle chip damage and needs to be vulnerable to proc Inspire (a full duration Inspire self heal can’t even heal one Ana shot).

So optimal Brigitte play is running her as a main healer with a main healer as her dedicated pocket. Basically, if you dump heals into a Brigitte, she’ll get tons of value and heal the rest of the team (22 hps Inspire on top of Repair Packs is good, really good). She’s like a Support version of Reinhardt.

So your Ana/Moira/Mercy/Baptiste might end the match with silver healing, but the majority of that healing went to Brig and that was what allowed her to get gold healing.

My biggest problem with her right now is that her abilities are just clashing with each other and there’s no unity. She’s supposed to be a brawler. All of her abilities need her to be within close range of an enemy yet she has as much survivability as zen. High damage output brig should never come back but with 2-2-2 she needs her old self heal back.

I think she needs to be redesigned into a tank with a touch of support; similar to Zarya. Trying to make her a healer just fits too awkwardly with her toolkit no matter how they try to balance her.

I feel like Brigitte should be a Tanky high sustain hero with less healing as well. But I think she should be an off-Support like Zen not a full Tank, less focused on healing and more focused on her hybrid role. Maybe inverse the current Inspire numbers (22 hps self healing and 10 hps teammate healing). And bring back her 500 health barrier.

I doubt they’d ever do that though. Too many changes towards squishy heal bot

except Brigitte isn’t a main healer
not even close

My point is that she is.

If you dump healing into her so she can have extremely high Inspire uptime, which is problematic.

that is Lucio-like healing

It’s Lucio healing on drugs. 22 hps with a 20 METER RANGE and you only have to peek her LOS every 6 seconds.

22 hps is extremely low

I dont think she should have inspire at all. half the problem for her 222 is she doesn’t provide enough healing because half or more than half of it is locked behind a combat wall. Say what you like about it but at least with soldier you guarantee his full healing potenial every 15 second is consistent and guaranteed.

the attempt of greatly increasing healing her healing capability not only outside of combat with the repair pack rework but inside combat as come at the cost of her dmg potential making one of the lowest dmg output in the game, and survival making her arguably as fragile as zen in combat.

I think they should scrap inspire all together and change repair pack to just providing 100 temporay burst armour, and reverting most of her nerfs and place her into the tank category. this will make her into an exellent off tank that can run beside most tank with her primary purpose to be the main peel for the back line, stun and boop for disrupting a dive her her 100 armour burst to save a support from an attack.

but if an attempt to keep her as a support I think they should allow inspire to have a minor overheal affect only 25 more hp

A Support who decimates people in close range, doesn’t really need to aim, has a shield, has an ult that grants extra health in a radius, and works perfectly when pocketed by a main healer…

…Isn’t she pretty much a reimagined Symm 2.0?

p.s. oh, and the fact that alot of people thinks that picking her equals throwing also makes her even more like the good ole Symm 2.0 lol

She can actually do a good job of healing but her self sustain is pathetic and she needs to get close to her sources of harm to heal. Running her as a solo healer in QPC really highlights how this is a problem for her. OP is correct in stating that she is a healer who needs a healer.

but not a main healer by any means

Totally agree with you. Make her an off-tank. She’d play similar to Zarya in that she’d duck back and forth from the front lines, shielding herself or off-supporting. As a tank main, I’d love to be able to play a peel oriented off-tank like that to aid my backline.

It would also be more flavorful when she’s partnered with Reinhardt her mentor.

22 hps pretty good. Especially since it’s just her passive and it’s AOE

Now try stacking it with her Repair Pack for 82 hps.

Blows Zen, Mercy and Lucio out of the water

yeah, against six Sombras who are shooting each a different target from mid range…
now remember that Repair Packs last only two seconds

I agree, Brigitte is currently really useless in this meta.
She can’t brawl like before and her shield is just a joke right now.

The only thing Brig seems to have going for her, the only thing she can bring to the table that noone else can, is putting that health pack on an ally just before they dive into the enemy team.

Pair that with a Zarya bubble for that diver, and you have something pretty potent if you can coordinate it regularly. It’s not enough of a niche to make Brig matter, but it’s a start.

Some people on the forums have posted that they think the health packs are a tad OP and need tuned down, while it seems to the rest of us that it’s the only thing in her kit worth noting. I think once Brig comes up for another rework, they should focus on those healthpacks and really up their potential at the expense of taking away Inspire, which is largely useless and hazardous to try to procure.

Sombra has mediocre mid-range damage that’s halved by armor because of the falloff.

So it’d be a struggle to kill Brigitte or anyone else that had armor (i.e. Tanks or Torb) with the 22 hps

and that’s why 22 hps would be
